I remember when NPR was a trusted news source, and a place journalists clamored to work for. Getting a job at NPR meant that you were at the top of your game How sad that they are nothing more than stenographers repeating propaganda.

"No one in the park seemed to take note" is revealing but not in the way it sounds. We do take note, because they're *armed troops* in our city, but we also make a point of *not being obvious about it* because they are OCCUPYING ARMED TROOPS looming and we'd prefer not to draw attention from them.

“Challenging democratic norms”. Fucking, really? That’s what you choose to call an occupied city? NPR is a fucking joke. Literal propaganda. You deserve to go out of business. Coward ass pathetic journalism.

@npr.org - “challenging democratic norms” is so weakly worded it loses the meaning of what is happening. At best it is piss poor writing. Reality is it sides with a power grab to end democracy.

The National Guard troops in DC have taken over the park ranger information kiosks and contact stations to hang out in the air conditioning, displacing the rangers & volunteers and refusing to answer questions from the public when they approach the window with a question.

"Unclear how USPP employees feel. But all the [National] Mall kiosks and SULO [Survey Lodge - the old ranger station on the Washington Monument grounds] are chockablock with National Guard. And they all know the [pass] codes." *When hundreds are given the security pass code it defeats the purpose.

"Kevin Griess went from saying at an all-employee meeting essentially: we hope to have the NG situation in the kiosks resolved soon and we are anticipating favorable news to deliver, and then within a month sending out an email that stated USPP see them as our partners and thus now they are."

He wants the guard there to make sure that the moment that he decides to go full dictator he’ll already have the guard there. Also why he is turning the White House into a tacky gold covered military installation. The guard ain’t leaving.

"Challenging democratic norms" SERIOUSLY??!!?? This is blatantly unconstitutional, undemocratic, and un-American. @npr.org - please show us you understand and take seriously the role you play in this moment Your reach and influence is vast This is the moment for integrity

Not 'challenging' - *against* democratic norms. That's what fascists do, and dare anyone (especially the press) to call them on it. And when they receive no pushback, no call to defend democratic norms, they make another step against the norms until there's nothing left.

“It” isn’t an “it.” It is a “he.” Deployment doesn’t just pop up like mushrooms after a spring rain. It is Trump that is challenging, changing, breaking, attacking democratic norms. His name deserves to be in the lede.

"Donald Trump and Pete Hegseth want to spend billions of dollars to continue their illegal & unconstitutional deployment of the National Guard against the public." Do not pretend this is anything less than the crime it is.
