delighted to inform everyone that despite all the super liberated sex/drugs/rock&roll ideology flying around in the *edgier* parts of the 1960s popular music scene, when all was said and done the only one of those guys who had the balls to actually come out as bisexual was Arthur goddamned Garfunkel

In the 1960s, you just did your thing, with others into your thing and everyone was happy. The songs told the stories of all that was going on for those who payed attention. Coming out was really dangerous. Keeping your balls intact was a real concern. Sorta like right now.

...he actually came out as a whole bunch of things over the course of that same sentence in his 2017 memoir: "I was an angel singer, a homework nut; an underground man-lover of all beautiful asses, beautiful faces, beautiful bodies, boys and girls." He's so valid I support him

ah yes the eight genders: angel singer homework nut underground man-lover beautiful asses beautiful faces beautiful bodies boys girls tag yourselves lads

I only go for Mole-Men, so having it written as Underground Man-Lover instead of Underground-Man Lover is a sticking point for me when making a choice.

Take a look at Second Wave Feminism. I lived through that time and can say you are missing out on a great deal. Think of the ground we had to break with essays like the Politics of Housework and Linda Nochlin’s Why Have There Been No Great Women Artists?

Thanks so much for this! Truly! I was just sitting with a client yesterday (licensed counselor) who had a fight that morning with her SO about the the cat litter. The same fight they always have! He ‘needs her help.’ the man does an incredibly technical job, with his hands! Weaponized incompetence!

Not defending him, but does he have ADHD? Really complicated/detailed work can be easy to hyperfixate on, while just getting out of a chair to go to the bathroom can be nearly impossible sometimes. If that's not the problem - put the litterbox beside his side of the bed. 😜

He’s not my client so I can’t really say. I, too, have thought that, though! I have ADHD, I recognize the behavior, but this carries across all domestic duties, unless she asks, and explains. So, there’s that part. I have difficulty with housework, but my husband doesn’t have to ask me to do it.

Hippy circles had their own issues, since they were all into the "free love" thing, which often turned out to be a way to pressure girls into sex. They'd torn down the old rules, but didn't really have a good moral structure to replace them yet.

This is correct, and you can tell because this virtue signaling didn't hold when the trend left the mainstream. Their modern-day equivalent can be found in the kink/psychedelic scene today, which is choke-full of predators presenting as wholesome spirituals.

counting Bowie in a category of his own. Jagger is a fair point, I had to google him to see how much he's actually acknowleged it. On that note, here's the opening clause of a gossip piece about Jagger's sexual orientation:
