So the "advice" doled out in this column makes me INCREDIBLY fucking angry as a former kid who was repeatedly taken to task by teachers for "inappropriate" drawings, culminating in a 9th-grade suspension spurred by Columbine paranoia and residual Satanic Panic. Arionne here says that was JUSTIFIED.

This is big news. Ending the puberty-blocker ban in New Zealand is massive. It puts Cass & the entirety of Labour’s flagship anti-trans policies in doubt. Yet no mainstream media platform has even mentioned it. Indeed most alternative media, like @bylinetimes.bsky.social have failed to mention it.

I met an outdoor cat yesterday while out to vote, just sitting in the middle of a little side street, demanding attention from anyone exiting the polling place. He was relatively plump and obviously well cared for, with zero fear. He gave my bike a good long sniff before wandering over

to an elderly couple and DEMANDING their attention. They were quite taken with him. He seemed, for all the world, to be an average man about town; the king of his little street, waiting for the masses to pay him his proper tribute. I forgot to take a picture.

Politico wrote up Zohran playing basketball with the uncovering-a-big-scandal tone the same day the NYTimes wrote up "credible allegation that The President of the United States raped a woman" as a political strategy story. Broken media in a nutshell

i don't think anyone should run explicitly on banning online gambling but i do think that a democratic-led government should just quietly take steps to undermine the industry and create an inhospitable regulatory environment

A part of this not mentioned is that Texas used to let kids transition. I volunteered at a camp for trans kids in Houston when I was in college (pre transition I know I know how did I not know I was trans). Guess where part of that camp was? Texas Children’s. That’s how much we lost

its insane how not many people are talking about how republicans with the help of several moderate democrats are building out the largest abusive medical conversion therapy operation in modern american history

RFK talks about autistic and Arabic people the exact same way. He assumes they are not capable of ordinary or extraordinary achievements because of who they are. He considers them sub-human because they are not like him. This makes it plain that his is a white supremacist eugenicist project.

RFK: "There's five hundred million Arabs in the world. And yet they don't produce science. They don't win the Nobel Prize. They don't win the Fields Prize. They don't win the Wolf Prize. They don't produce literature."

NEW: I spoke with current and former EA employees to understand how the latest layoff round played out and the realities of daily life at the U.S. publisher. The short version? EA is controlled by an executive class that "cannot fail, only be failed." Workers, then, will always pay the price.

I want all trans people to know that Erika Hilton is a black transwoman and the most-voted congresswoman in the history of Brazil, with 1.5 millions votes. She campaigned for Lula over the last three weeks. WE TRANS PEOPLE CAN EXIST IN POLITICS. It’s not a dream. It’s already a reality in Brazil!

I’m not a political journalist, so was gladly surprised at the community I found here last night. To Americans anxious about the upcoming elections, a key thing we learned in Brazil that might help you: DO NOT engage with the far-right online. Don’t share rage bait. Amplify your people. Ignore them.

A new survey of 1,000 American adults found that the strongest supporters of transgender sports bans are not the people who admire women most: they are the people who hold the most hostile views about women. www.helenwebberley.com/news/transge...

Dear road crew, I understand that your work is vital and there is NEVER an ideal time to start work on neighbourhood streets. But did you have to start AT SIX IN THE FUCKING MORNING?!

People abroad don't understand the level of interference Meta & bots had in these elections. 5 days before the election a far-right politician posted a fake news video that got 157 MILLION views on Instagram in 24hs. For reference, GTA 6's reveal trailer got 90 million views on YouTube in 24hs.

To be honest: not that safe, it drops blood pressure and cardiac rhythm. If you have a number of conditions (any breathing issues, notably), it can be pretty dangerous.

This isn't hyperbole or a joke. Parents actually called the cops and got the black boy and his family removed and the league claimed they were trespassing because he was "putting on a show" and wasn't playing "fair."

They called the cops on this 3-year-old Black boy because he was kickin the white kids' ass on the soccer field.

Banning trans kids from sports is fucked up. And you better believe there are terrible people and parents who see "Fairness in youth sports" as a much bigger battlefield that will include girls who are too tall, black kids who are too fast, etc etc

Imagine feeling like your country's newsmedia could at any time turn its back and begin this level of hate campaign against you, to the point that they harass you and everyone you love to the literal ends of the earth, mining you for content until your death and even after. How would you live life?

Another one here where the British press just smashed fuck out of a member of the public’s life for no good reason, just because they wanted to and nobody will stop them doing at. And they’re still going, even now.

Had a pleasant surprise at the grocery store today: Red River Cereal is back. Look, I don't know how to explain this thing without sounding like a bizarre health food nut (which I'm not), but it's made from cracked wheat, flax, and rye. You cook ot into a porridge and IT TASTES GOOD somehow.

I used to eat it all the time as a kid when I moved to Ontario; the recipe and consistency were a bit different then but that was also rather a long time ago sooo *big shrug* Anyway it tastes really good with a little maple syrup, a little brown sugar, some raisins, and fresh berries.

My first five TTRPGs in the order I played them: 1. DC Heroes (via The Batman RPG) 2. AD&D 3. Rifts 4. Vampire the Masquerade 5. Mage the Ascension

My first five ttrpgs in the order I played them: 1. Vampire: the Masquerade 2. Demon: the Fallen 3. Changeling: the lost 4: Werewolf: the apocalypse 5: d&d (4 and 5 might be flipped it was so long ago now but the rest are for certain)

Which edition of AD&D? It's a bit wishy washy given HOW I was introduced to it (through D&D camp) technically 1e, but also 2e so soon after as to make no real difference.
