I wrote one too, off my own back! Have been writing since mid-February to express my dismay about various policies. They've offered to pass them on to the relevant ministers - don't seem to get the point I was making at the beginning about Labour abandoning Labour values and not delivering change!!

I don't think I've written to my MP before this parliament. Now I have written a half-dozen or so emails in total. Kirkham's not bad, she responded at some length when I wrote over my concerns about the difficulty Ukrainian refugees had with renewing their stay here, (the timings were all out...

... leaving them temporarily in limbo), but only, it seems, after the matter was addressed somewhat, (something I suspect had little to do with my letter or she'd have taken credit). But she seems to be doing her best and I do get the sense emails are actually read.

Understandable. Every day the government announces a new policy that either boosts the far-right, hammers the poor, elderly or sick, abandons our allies, or grovels to Donald Trump and the other criminals dismembering the United States. No wonder its popularity is nosediving.

this is perhaps what upset me the most about Starmer, even more than the lying (which, to be honest, every single politicians do) He's destroyed the hopes of countless committed ex-labout members, activists, socialists who dedicated countless hours, days and years to construct a dream

I was so hopeful when Labour got into power. I didn't expect to agree with everything they did, but I thought things were going to get better. Now I just feel betrayed, and fearful for the future.

I can see the argument for staying and seeking to influence from within. But (a) I’ve been a member for years and never had any impact on policy and (b) I can’t square being a member of this current party with my personal ethics. Their position on immigration is immoral.

Well I did mine earlier, didn't read it. They bang on about being English and white so much you'd have thought someone would checked to see it was an English format. Utterly inept shower...

I am a member of the Social Democratic Party (SPD) in Germany and sometimes my feelings are quite similar. Especially when it comes to the question of how to address the threat from right wing nationalist parties.
