If the England FA were cunning they would write to FIFA today asking whether Quansah can play in the next game or does the exception only apply to American players. And publish the letter.

Trump has his fingers so far up FIFAs ass. I've been a soccer fan since childhood and this is the worst decision in my lifetime. Balogun is lucky that could have been a career ending injury. Most red cards are never intentional. It's a red period! The beautiful game is tarnished by a wanna be King

Is Infantio in the Epstein files? Could this be why Trump has leverage over him? Can America win the World Cup fairly, will ICE invade the pitch and incarcerate players from the opposing team because they look like illegal aliens?. And what about that FIFA peace prize just for Trump?

Agreed. Studs into players leg… (although the defender leg bounced off top of ball first which caused the studs up),,, but exactly the same outcome studs on opponents leg. No difference in the offence. He should get the card suspended!

FIFA is losing (more) legitimacy if Quansah is not afforded the same grace or Balo sits out vs BEL. In retort, I expect Smelly Diaper Caligula to declare Belgium to be the 52nd US state and send JD Vance to tell them to pull his finger or he'll tariff frites or nuke the Mannekin Pis.

Agree but disagree I echo your sentiment … However, a red card is a red card. As an 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 fan, Quansah was a red card … as was the American player. What’s the point in rules if bribery & corruption dictate (like a fascist dictatorship & belittle the sport)💁🏻‍♂️🤷🏻

Not just Americans. Article 27 was also used to suspend Ronaldo's match ban to start of the WC. And that was more egregious, given the intentional nature of his elbow to O'Shea's back, vs Balogun's incidental step on Muharemovic’s ankle (a play that didn't get Messi a red in an earlier game, btw).

FIFA will change the rules until America wins. It’s that simple. They’ll retrospectively annul goals & call America winners because Trump phones them up & said it wasn’t fair. Fuck, I’m Belgian & worried Trump will bomb us if we trounce USMNT FIFA WC 2026 is a laughing stock. Pure shitshow.

Unfortunately the orange pedophile won’t be at the game, otherwise I’d have hoped he died of a heart attack when Belgium - a country he couldn’t find on a map (tbh most folks can’t) - ass-whooped Merika. Belgium are an old team now, not like before. FIFA cheating doesn’t help either

I was told a good while ago that there’s no mechanism to remove him, but his term ends next year and there’s no way he will get re-elected. Best hope is he resigns now but I think that’s a long shot ☹️

The FA hasn't got the stones.... Plus they know all about corruption. 🤦‍♂️😂 Just look at those with special treatment I. The prem 😂😂

And so it begins… It’s only fair! So should South Africa and Mexico. All red cards should be pardoned….right Don? Do the right thing and right the injustice!!

One decision has invalidated this competition as a sport. It is now a profit making entertainment for the easily fooled. Cunning yes but should we be part of this FIFA/Trump charade?

Shoot, the ref who gave Balogun that widely-panned red in the first place, was previously investigated in Brazil for a match-fixing scandal and improper use of cards. I hate Trump as much as the next guy, but if this is the greatest FIFA scandal to anybody, they haven't been paying attention.

That was a legit red card so no , I think France have now appealed theirs tho, America needs to understand that bad decisions are part of football and always have been.

Two wrongs and all that....Team USA should do the honourable thing, and not name the player in their squad for the next game. Someone needs to make a stance, for the good of the game.

Red cards in football are not given for unintentional or intentional fouls. Most fouls are unintentional. Very few are intentional. An American player could have easily broken the ankle of a Bosnian player. The referee saw it on VAR and deservedly gave him a red card. Gianni Infantino is corrupt.

Funny how the simple concept of endangering a player doesn’t register. Let’s ask OP, was the Qatar player breaking a Canadian player’s leg a red? It was not intentional. People say wrong use of, VAR. this is exactly what VAR is for. Clear and obvious mistakes

FIFA is corrupt as fuck but it clearly doesn't only apply to American players since Cristiano Ronaldo had his suspension rescinded under the same rule.

Not at the World Cup. And FIFA had specifically told participating countries that red cards at the WC would be absolute with no means of appeal. Which is exactly why there’s such a furore.

Qualifiers are considered part of the World Cup tournament for the purpose of these rules. Ronaldo's suspension should have applied.

Alright I get the point you’re trying to make but one could’ve easily been a yellow, and the other was the second-worst tackle of the entire tournament so far. Quansah will be lucky if he’s only suspended for one and you damn well know it. (Yes, Balogun should be suspended. I get why you’re mad.)

Every team who got a red card in this competition should ask their government and FIFA why their player was suspended for a match.

it applies to Portugese players too Ronaldo should have been banned at the start of tournament too - Red Card in qualifers when they lost in Dublin so why not try
