In 2023 I became obsessed with videos of dads in cargo shortswaiting in parking lots during Taylor Swift's Eras Tour. So when she came to town, I grabbed a camera and headed down to talk to them. I thought it'd be funny. It turned out to be something else entirely.

On this side of the Atlantic she toured last year: I was getting married at the same time and warned the party DJ that playing Taylor Swift would only bring half the men at the party out in hives as they were all Swiftie Dads.

There’s a deeper lesson here for so many who haven’t had careers with the longevity and resonance of yours, who retreated to the tedious cry-about-cancelled shit. They could have found so much more opportunity on the other side of vulnerability and (as you point out) honesty. And it’s still funny!

Our son married a ♥️woman who's 4yo daughter made them a Family. Our son's always called her his Bonus Daughter🥰 & tucked her Birthstone under the Diamond when he asked his wife to Marry Him. He spent Hours in a LA Park, Chatting & Watching Chess Matches, as BonusDaughter watched #TheERATour w/BFF😂😍

I've taken my two kids to the Warped Tour, countless concerts... Boston, Cincy (home), Indy, Louisville, Lexington, Chicago, Cleveland, and next August my husband and I are taking them (with a spouse and a boyfriend) to Knoxville to see My Chemical Romance, one of their tween loves. So much fun.

Love hearing everyone singing along with Taylor in the BG. Thank god young girls have such a positive role model in their lives to offset the evil of Trump’s pedophilia. Thank god for the fathers who go to such lengths to get their daughters to the concerts. Thank god for Taylor Swift.

Haha. I kinda had the inverse of that when I saw Chappell Roan in Paris this last summer... 1) Why is this older guy here with a son and not a daughter? 2) WTF why is it the DAD that knows all the words??

What I love seeing in the dads of my generation is how much more comfortable they are openly enjoying fatherhood. I'm 48 and have had the joy of seeing so many guy friends mature into these awesome engaged dads.

If my kids cared about Taylor Swift, this would be my husband. Instead, he's the dad that ponied up for his flight, hotel, and tickets to see Ozma in LA when our son's friends flaked. Same energy. Different fandom. 💜

When I went to opening weekend, there was a Dad behind me in line to get food outside the arena. He drove from NM to AZ for his daughters to be there even though he wasn't going in. He was so sweet and asked me about references for peoples costumes so he could tell his girls when he got back to them

Life is about moments and not money. While my daughters missed the Swift Era, I did take them all to concerts of artists I barely knew. We travelled, we stayed in hotels and we all have great memories of those times. Now, they all remember what a super dad I was for doing it for them.

And then I started crying, obviously. (My son called while I was typing "mama why are you crying? And I started blubbering about how much I love him and now he's bringing me donuts and somewhere in there I hit reply with reading it over first)

This is so sweet 😭 I cried at the dads being there with their daughters. My dad was absentee most of my life, so seeing loving fathers really hits me in the feel goods 😭😭 Merry Christmas eve & happy holidays! 💜

I took my daughter to the Eras Tour, and I got so emotional watching this. It's great to hear from those fathers who are stepping outside their comfort zones or recognizing that their parents wouldn't do this, because they want to be there for their daughters. We had our friendship bracelets ready.

Omg, 😭😭😭😭 this is not only beautiful and edited to amplify the dad telling their story, & appreciation + respect, friend: footage is shot/cut in a way that shows the care needed to honor boundaries when filming youth in a public space. So many people don't do that & it shows. Authenticity matters ♡

It was similar when my daughter was 12. New Kids on The Block. I took her and two of her friends. The decibel level in the old Omni in Atlanta was off the charts.

My dad drove my friends and I to a Butthole Surfers concert and waited in the parking lot for us. A few years later he bought the album with Pepper on it before I did. Pretty much the same thing as this video.
