They have no bargaining position. They are inept. The Economy continues to grind to a tragic halt, and the incompetent Administration can't even negotiate the simplest of deals. It turns out that lifelong Grifters do not make good business decisions. Trump always disappoints. #trumpcession

This could explain why Disney announced a first of its kind deal for this summer Cutting ticket prices for 3-9 year olds by 50% But will it be enough? If your a Fed govt employee expensive vacations may be on hold but the US has 350 mill people www.usatoday.com/story/travel...

usatoday.comIt’s going to cost less to take your kids to Disney World this summerWalt Disney World is rolling out new deals and limited-edition offerings for families and guests of all ages.

Isn't that what Trump wanted? America #1? You can't take the positive aspects, there are always two sides of the medal (about which he doesn't care, as we know). Sad for the people with a different meaning (which he also doesn't care about). Just Canada alone will have a huge share on this chart.

Saw this coming months ago. Tourism especially. Going to affect A LOT of people right in the pocketbook. Elections have consequences. I hope the Red Hats get everything they voted for because the rest of us are getting everything we didn't vote for.

Red states get a colossal amount of tourism - or did. But it is mostly Americans. It is the side of tourism that nobody seems to be factoring. And it is likely to be a disastrous loss. The Trump/Musk team have fired thousands of National Park employees and massively cut funding. As a result NP have

Said that Park facilities will be closed this year and sections of Parks will just have to be shut to the public. If you were planning on a visit to an NP, this is certainly not the year to do it. You cannot fly to most National Parks, you must drive. And when non-Americans scoff at how few Americans

Just thinking about all the NPs. Lots in red states or you have to drive through red states to get to them. Also, employees around the larger NP who work for the hotels, etc are from poorer European countries. Doubt if they’re coming this year. Would you let your kid come here to work?

Right? Rental vehicles, mom & pop campgrounds, motels, restaurants, gas stations, gift shops, stores, markets, etc. All will be hit hard. Yes, especially around our once pristine National Parks. And who knows what will become of those? No one to take care of them. It's just so unnecessary.

The NPs have a huge economic impact on surrounding communities. So not only are there now fewer staff at the parks… there will be a lot less business for local hotels, restaurants, etc.

Funny, just about every graph I see representing anything related to our economy looks just like this one, you know, with that sharp line going straight down at the end. I wonder what's causing that?

Ditto: I used to visit quarterly. Not until this crap is over. My USian relatives see the news about foreign tourists thrown in prison ESPECIALLY if they ever expressed anything like "Please stop killing Palestinian children in their beds" on social media like I have.

It's going to be interesting watching 47 try to make Canadians, and our international friends and families, come back to visit. It won't happen until 47 and the republicans are ousted. They miscalculated coming after Canada, we are an extremely culturally diverse nation, global family and friends.

Consequences of 47 and Republican policies are being realized by the hour. I've lost track of all the significant deals being made without the US at this point. China alone are owning 47 daily; Boeing, BYD, soy beans, oil and gas........

💯 The economy hasn't even begun to feel the consequences of GOP47's actions. I think the squeeze will start in May and by June/July the pain will be real. Incoming cargo ships increased earlier, as companies front-loaded on inventory. I read that many that come in now are leaving empty.

As someone who travels internationally a fair bit, I’m concerned that a lot of the international flights are going to be curtailed and therefore more costly. I mean, there’s not a lot of demand to go to places like Pyongyang is there?

Hmmm…the notable genius demonstrating his most incredible intelligence? I wonder if ANY of his congressional or Cabinet servants have explained to him that high paying manufacturing jobs are NOT coming back to the U.S. and that VERY FEW Americans would take any that might come back?

It’s a magical place….well it use to be. Last time I was there was 23 years ago. I was always flying over when I was a kid because my Dad worked in Detroit and then I got around to taking my own family, and they loved it as well. Happy memories, happy places and happy people! …..but not anymore!!

The people who weren’t already boycotting because of the despicable threats towards allies, 51st state bullshit, and tariffs are now avoiding visiting because of the concentration camps. In 3 months your regime has made the US a pariah state. It will be generations before you recover

They're going to be as desperate for hard currency as North Korea too if they don't stop messing around quick here. If not the central bankers of the world will eventually cut their losses, collapse the US dollar, and move on without the USA.

I would say that it is not even the regime itself that will make the US a pariah state for decades to come. It is the fact that 20% of the people here really support that 51st state and Greenland bullshit.

It is the Republican Party’s policy is to create a low wage manufacturing industry. 60% of Republicans believe that they would be worse off if they were to work in manufacturing. Start getting use to $11.00 per hour for a 12 hour shift.

The “Economic Geniuses” in the WH took the world’s most vibrant and influential and secure economy and purposely ran it off a cliff so that we’re heading to a recession. Oh, the Idiot in Chief now wants to fire the Fed Chair because he won’t set fire to the wrecked mess he made.

“Change in” means this is a rate of change compared to the previous year, not the total number of visitors <3 So when it went negative that’s the point where it stayed dropping overall

“You’llsee him inyour nightmares You’ll see him in yourdreams He’ll appear out of nowhere but He ain’t what heseems You’ll see him in yourhead On the tv screen Hey Buddy,I’m warning He’s a man,he’s a guru Youra microscopic cog In his catastrophic plan Designed and directed by his red right hand

Too much fear/uncertainty, exactly what Trump wants & what they voted for, When they thought it would only impact illegals. People travel to the US from countries where they only reside but aren't citizens of, what if CBP finds something they just don't like about you. Sent to a Private Prison?

My mate is going on a stag do to Barbados. Was all booked for Las Vegas. A small example but times it by thousands from all over the world. Those Disneyland fast passes aren't gonna sell themselves.

It’s not just the jobs. The taxes paid by tourists are keeping some governments afloat. Florida in particular would find it impossible to balance their budget without sales/resort taxes collected from tourists.

Maybe it's time to overhaul the visa application process to make it more welcoming + also not have it that you pay a ton of money for an application that may or may not be declined, especially when you have countries that don't charge for visa applications Oh and also, not treating everyone guilty

And healthcare spending is about four times greater than the trade deficit; would seem like improving health care system would have a bigger impact on US economy than shrinking the trade deficit.

The data is not nearly as bad as that chart makes it look. bsky.app/profile/wand...

Seth Miller@wandrme.paxex.aero

This graphic got a lot of action last week. I was curious about the underlying data so I pulled a copy from the same source, but included all the airports being reported, not just five. And I included the total data, not just YoY change. The numbers are a bit less shocking.

The main problem is actually for teams and broadcasters. - as it is for other corporations/associations who used to use trips to places like Florida or Vegas for seminars and conferences. You cannot ask employees to go there anymore. Not just on moral grounds, but likely on legal grounds. Take an

If you can't send futbol back overseas, send it north or south. We play football, baseball, and basketball in the USA, we'll even share hockey with Canada. But soccer is a highly respected foreign sport, but it's a foreign sport. 🇺🇸🇨🇦🇲🇽

The last World Cup was in Qatar. As much as I loathe The Donald with the heat of a thousand suns I think the chances they move it are slim to none. Besides, he’s going to want to make sure it’s the best tournament ever so he’s not going to do anything to ruin it. 🤞🏻 but it’s him so….

I hope Americans recover from this. But first, in order to recover the sickness must be purged from the body. That sickness right now... Trump voters? No, they are a symptom. The sickness is these voters being poorly educated, not in terms of skills, but in terms of truth.

Surprised? *Plane crashes *Armed criminals on the streets (J6 crims) *Measles *Food poisoning *Deportation & incarceration *Misogynists thumping their chests Why would anyone bother? Lots of nicer places to visit.

I was really considering 2025 as the year to visit the USA and especially New York, never happening now. I'd rather either support somewhere local or in the euro zone than the USA while they continue to allow Trump and Elon be the leaders of the country.

The sad thing for this country is that there is a way to increase manufacturing jobs in this country, without pissing off the rest of the world. But that would involve a measured approach and a defined plan. Something this administration can't do, but hey they can give us "concepts of a plan".

But that's what I'm saying, it's not a graph of direction, its a graph of change - a derivative. A graph of direction would look like a curve that shows tourism increasing but leveling off until about the election (when the graph crosses zero), and dropping afterwards, then crashing even steeper.

We elected a felon. He proceeded to appoint unqualified people to the highest positions in the administration. Tariffs have decimated our retirement. Dollar continues to go down. He’s dismantling federal agencies. Our food is not safe, our health is not safe. Education is in peril. The rich thrive

I really blame the 90 who didn't vote. 😡 I just can't believe how trump could get so many votes after his first 4 years ,but ignorance and racism won the day. Now4 years of hell coming apon the country and world now.

Who would risk coming to this shit hole if there's a chance they'll be arrested and sent to El Salvador for zero cause. Trump is the dumbest most incompetent motherfucker ever to disgrace the White House.

And while we are a much smaller group, I assure you the 🇨🇦 living here are also boycotting all unnecessary purchases and travel within the US. Not just tourism: My investments have gone home. My charitable contributions too.

eventually, i hope, these idiots realize they've stopped making money renting out their Aspen condos to rich foreigners who are now afraid to get thrown in a concentration camp for coming here on holiday...

College enrollment is way down from the same problem. Foreign students are staying away from the US, which is a big problem for University funding AND industry that relies on skilled labor or research. We no longer attract the world's best.

I live in Chs SC. I've heard no one in public life express any concern about the losses to our two major economic drivers..tourism &Boeing. Its all "Fiddle dee dee" w/the most concern being: we just have to see but I think it will all work out. My head is about to fall off from shaking so much.

Given that one of their current crown jewels is Florida, a tourism heavy state full of immigrants, I wouldn't be so sure. There's a non zero chance that this one thing turns politically disastrous.

Donald Trump ignores the Constitution, the law, and the courts in every Jurisdiction—including the Supreme Court. He has empowered Republican Fascists to ignore the law and protect his illegal acts even if specifically prohibited by the Constitution. He must be impeached and thrown into prison.
