So when is the felon becoming the prisoners in Florida state? I bet he has committed more crimes than ALL those who received the death penalty.

Up to 25% are not guilty! Death Row costs 10x more a year! Prison level 5 is hell on earth! Make them pay every day. Plus if up to 1 in 4 are not guilty? Glad they got rid of it in CT!

This is a direct result of Republicans in positions of power. Unless you're a member of the trustfund millionaires, billionaires, corporate execs, and anyone with a net worth over $1M, your life means nothing and you're expendable.

Because of the endless number of appeals for Death Row Inmates; it costs MORE to execute someone than life w/o parole. This is why states are backing off. In addition, the method of killing someone has yet to be perfected. Executions of often botched and are far from painless.

So you only object to murder when it is someone in your family who dies? As long as someone else dies — eye for an eye — you’re good? That is some selective murdering primitive bullshit you’ve got going on.

If you notice the Republicans elected to office what to make rules that fit them, steal your money, pass laws that make you pay, or figure out a method to get someone killed. - Florida's governor likes building phony jails for fRump or now he wants to kill residents before he leaves office.

Republicans sure are bloodthirsty to kill their fellow Americans. Death Penalty. Guns everywhere. Deny healthcare. Pollute our food, air, water. Antivax. Anti safety regulations. Concentration camps. ProFascism.

People don't seem to realize that both the Dems and Republicans are two sides of the same coin. Both have done nothing but do things that give them more money and power and their actions speak louder than words and their words are just as loud. To the Dems constantly raising taxes and flooding the

If you're serious about what happened, both the Democrats and Republicans ran on being open to civil rights in the 1960 election and the end results the GOP lost more than gained on that platform. After that they doubled down on racism and more Southern variances of bigotries to pick up racists

They also have nice hobbys! Bill Campbell, a death penalty supporter and a mainstay at the executions, on May 21. His sign keeps a running list of the names of prisoners executed since 2025, crossed out in red, and his boom box blares songs like “Another One Bites the Dust.”

Allthis somehow doesn´t quite tie in with their professed "pro-life" position...especially the death penalty, as it kills directly and with premeditation.

That's just the kind of people who live in Florida. So called "Christians" who believe in killing even though the 10 Commandments says "Thou shalt not..."

Given the great preponderance of news stories starting with "Florida man..." it seems that they are definitely killing the wrong ones. Except, where they take care of it themselves in the story.

Why is it these guys, who claim to be "christian" ~ and, esp., ones like Desantis, who claimed to be "anointed by God" ~ seem to forget the Commandment, "thou shalt not kill". Why is that? Are they above God's law?

I almost agreed, except for the part where you say "God doesn't exist"... (He does... But it's really more of an "it", IMO. 😁) I agree that people kill for the stupidest reasons, despite the Commandment, but they do so based on misunderstandings, wrong interpretations of Scriptures. 💚

Nope they aren´t! My sentiments exactly. Plus, the anointment thing belongs to pre-modern (absolute) monarchy. Plus, punishment should be about repentance (and possibly re-integration into society), and about protecting the public/keeping perpetrators from re-committing, but never about retaliation.

First of all, how many times have they found many on death row were actually innocent? You can't resurrect them if found innocent after they're gone. Second, if they're in fact guilty, let them rot in jail for the rest of their lives. No privileges, nothing. Just rot.

We hold these truths to be self evident...the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. That is unless the state decides that you don't have those rights. Except that the state has no power to take away those rights. It's not a right if someone can legally take it away.

As long as it's deserving. Still mad about Oregon not letting those sentences get carried out. At what point are we going to hold people accountable. An respect the Judges hard decision.

A christian bible belt state executing more people than the 1930s. Similarly, nazis were executing everyone too during the same period. Nazis, confederate, and maga are the same people. Murderous Haters advancing christian white nationalist like the nazis and confederate did, history repeats.

Thirty years of republican rule has destroyed Florida. They front all this culture war bullshit while looting the public funds for education, infrastructure, housing and healthcare. The working classes and elderly are leaving in droves. It will soon be a state for rich assholes with no labor force.

Things you only see in america: Bill Campbell, a death penalty supporter and a mainstay at the executions, on May 21. His sign keeps a running list of the names of prisoners executed since 2025, crossed out in red, and his boom box blares songs like “Another One Bites the Dust.”

We wouldn't have the problem w/ the J6 traitors if they were all executed like they should have been. Instead soft-on-crime policies gave those traitors a slap on the wrist which ultimately led to them being pardoned by Trump & then hired on as ICE agents. Death penalty should ALWAYS be an option.

Does not bear thinking of😭😡. And as devastating as this is, it´s just one of many horrible aspects of the death penalty. And it reminds me of a certain NY real-estate mogul publicly calling (in vain, fortunately) for the deaths of the "Central Park Five", who eventually also were proved innocent.

There are some real real bad people.who deserve to die. And if this is it for them, then so be it. Murderers do not deserve the right to live.. Child rapists do not deserve the right to live. Sometimes you got to grow a set and say,hey this is what is going to happen to you,if you commit these

When you look at some criminal cases (particularly those involving children) it is somewhat natural to blurt out. "They should fry that ___" but when you pause and think about innocent people who were executed in error and that it can never be fixed it is a sobering reminder of why it is wrong.

Those are very serious allegations. It’s important to distinguish between claims, investigations, and convictions, and rely on verified legal outcomes rather than accusations.

Americans really need to contend with the fact that a very large percentage of its citizens are absolutely bloodthirsty and just waiting for an excuse.

I think the death penalty should be reserved for special cases where the person is undeniably guilty of crimes so heinous and monstrous that forcing them to live with the memories of those crimes would be even more inhumane than execution. Cases like Jeff Dahmer, Charles Manson, and Donald trump.

By the way, harsher punishments do not deter crime. Making it more likely one will get caught makes less crime. Harsher punishments make it worse. It turns bad crimes into terminating victims and witnesses more than it reduces crimes.
