If any college programs are looking for a coach that doesn’t take his foot off the gas, a high school coach in Oregon was just fired for going for an onside kick up 57-0 in the first half. Their opponents quit the game at halftime. 💀

They weren’t. Scored to make it 57-0 with under two minutes in half. Tried onside kick and didn’t recover it, but got an interception. Scored again before half. The losing team had only 16 players dressed.

Maybe there should be a rule where the game is canceled if one team or the other doesn't have a full roster. It's not so much that Cottage Grove lost a game, it's that they didn't have a real football team in the first place.

He should be at a Quaker or Plymouth Brethren school; I think you could make a reasonable case that going easy on an inferior team is a form of lying and therefore an insult to God.

Consider reaching out to local coaching associations for recommendations on candidates who balance competitiveness with sportsmanship. A strong focus on player development and team culture can attract the right fit for your program's values.

The Marist coach attempted an onside kick *with a 56 point lead*. Fuck him, and good on the Cottage Grove coach for not forcing his kids to keep putting up with that bullshit.
