Trump: You wanna see trauma? I said it the other day. Let them hit a missile into San Diego or Los Angeles.

love living in modern times, where "I sure do hope the president isn't slow-rolling a large scale false flag attack against one of a number of major cities" is a thought that needs to take place

thankfully I'm pretty sure this is just a "lol fuck those liberals, amirite" riff but still, fuck him

And that’s what happens when the media sanewashes everything and there’s 0 accountability. He keeps on doing it. Same for 1/6. He’s gonna keep trying to overturn elections.

He really just wants attention. If everyone freaks out about something he says, he wins - he gets his dopamine hit. He's happy to keep doing it, or backtrack, or whatever gets him another hit. It's not real to him. The attention is the point. It's the drug.

omg I actually interpreted the initial clip differently (him saying “LA and San Diego could’ve been attacked by Iran if I didn’t start this war“ which is still dumb) but now he’s literally Mel Robbins Let Them-ing LA & San Diego getting bombed

This clip makes me even more sure that you (and I) were right the first time. He's not saying that they can bomb LA . He says that if that happened, the country would be "in freefall." He's trying to say that his Iran war prevented LA from getting bombed. He's just a spectacularly bad speaker.

Mind you, it shouldn't be this hard to discern whether the President is suggesting that LA should get nuked. I don't blame anybody for interpreting it the other way.

It doesn't even matter if he actually meant to say it the first time, if you ask him whether he meant it he will always say "yes, and fuck you for thinking I might not"

My favorite example of this is the "Liberation Day" tariff-stravaganza last year. I was watching when he first mentioned the April 1 date and IMO he CLEARLY got mixed up when someone asked him about the schedule and gave what was then supposed to be the day of a more limited car tariff announcement.

We are still doing this because the media has been cleared of people with ethics and morals to make way for people who will be sycophantic to Republicans and Trump above all else, whether it be "For access" or cause they like him is irrelevant.

At ANY POINT since 16 they could have reported on him honestly and treated him like he deserves and so many leading news agencies decided it was better for them to coddle him and treat him like he was the most specialist boy ever, damned be the consequences.

In much the same way all police stories use the exonerative tense, all Trump stories are premised on finding the most innocent interpretation of things and working backwards while ignoring all prior context

"Some random streamer said we deserved 9/11 and apologized the next day. That means all Dems are demons that should not be elected. I'm the President of the US, a Republican, and I said let Iran bomb LA and SD. No, I don't have to apologize, in fact I'll double down. What are you gonna do? >:)"

It's such a perfect example of the use of hypocrisy by fascists. If I say it I'm a great communicator, I'm warning of the dangers. If you say it you're a terrorist. You can't win against these people with rethoric. There is only one language they speak and it doesn't use that many words.
