I don't usually get worked up about video games but Todd Howard should not be allowed to make Fallout 5 until he 1) finishes Elder Scrolls 6 and 2) does 500 hours of community service as punishment for Starfield

There are points when I found myself enjoying Starfield and then there are points where I was literally asking "what the fuck am I doing?" Saving the galaxy from the Terrormorphs, or unlocking new powers: yes, good. Being a corporate spoiler, or handing out flyers: "What the fuck am I doing?"

From the reporting on the Microsoft shakeup Bethesda didn't actually have any plans to put out another mainline fallout till the 2030s. Of course I'm not particularly excited about obsidian because outerworlds and avowed were very meh.

That's fair, but I personally believe that the passion and focus on detail behind Avowed and Outer Worlds would serve a Fallout game better than the corporate stifling that made Starfield so flawed. Neither company is perfect, but I trust Obsidian to make something promising, if not perfect.

And if Microsoft actually gives Obsidian some RELIABLE funding to get production in motion and release a game before GODDAMN 2030, I would happily damn Todd Howard to Producer Non Grata. I don't want a Fallout game in Unreal 7, I just want an enjoyable (not perfect or refined) video game.

I know I am hung up on this, but seriously, no new Fallout was planned to be out before 2030? Talk about wasting your momentum! Does that imply that Bethesda would just make more spinoffs or keep pumping out 76 content and expect people to wait? Todd Howard is a very disappointing perfectionist.

Doing just the main quest really hammered that in! The mission, Entangled, was one of the most creative and unnerving work they did, only being topped by dealing with a Terrormorph for the first time as a quest while being low level.

An unfortunate case of being overly ambitious. I feel like if they'd just stuck to a few well populated core systems, made the architecture of the game conducive to player created planets, and then made a BG3 style mod system to add in worlds with a button click, it would have been great.

After everything with Fallout 4 and fallout 76 I was baffled when Starfield was announced and every one got excited like we don’t even know anything about it yet and people were still devoting a 24hr news cycle for updates on the trailer with Mudcrabs but in space this time

I am torn between the tiiiiight story of fallout1 and the more puerile fun of fallout 2, but in either case I don't think Emil Pagliarulo should be allowed near a fucking word processing program ever again for as long as he lives

hey hey there starfield was crazy good there and the story was insane for me and now I'm on the my 2nd play with dlc plus what I learned because i had no idea what was happening for like 20 hours then it just clicked

I somewhat enjoyed Starfield. But they really dropped the ball and didn't push far enough in making a new, unique IP. The ship and base building mechanics especially were a waste. So much missed potential. And the use of teleports between interiors and exteriors. It isn't necessary anymore, Todd.
