- Ability to publish canvas w/o a third party plugin - Ability to collaborate on obsidian files in realtime like Google Docs - Granular share control for individual published files or parts/folders of a published vault All 3 would be amazing for learning & teaching!

A way to draw directly into notes with the Apple pencil. I'd pay for Obsidian Sync if this was done well. Currently I use separate apps for handwritten notes on an iPad and typed ones on a desktop, and it would be amazing if I could painlessly combine the two.

Hi, if this still doesn't exist (which is the reason I stopped using Obsidian), I'd really like to see native Android push notifications for tasks/reminders in the Obsidian app.

Vault Groups I mean, I can fake it with: ~/Obsidian/SomeWrapperDir vault1 -> /usr/local/projects/vault1 vault2 -> /usr/local/projects/vault2 and point at the wrapper as a vault root.. it works, but would be nice to have "add dir to vault".

A built-in plaintext editor, so you can edit .txt files, or edit .md files as plaintext. I need to do this all the time, and I currently use an extension for it, but none of the extensions are very good.

Better UX when there are many open tabs one window. Instead of squishing the tabs together and making them so tiny they're impossible to read and hard to click on, make the tab list scrollable, or have it break into multiple rows of tabs. Maybe even add tab groups? Or better multi-window UX?

Yes, but it's awkward, which is why I said *better* multi-window UX. There's currently no keyboard shortcut to open a new window, for example, and many tools are only available on the "main" window.

Already on the roadmap but bases support in obsidian publish. I’d also personally really appreciate a setting to not include any obsidian css for publish so I don’t have to fight it / overwrite it / ship unused styles.

easier way to add images to notes on mobile (i.e. a button that opens a camera and stores the image in the predefined folder and also inserts the image at the cursor)

How? If you think about adding a photo from the phone into a note, that's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about inserting the photo directly from the camera (e.g. you write a daily journal and want to insert a photo of the view or something). I don't know how to do that with the toolbar..

Maybe formulas in tables, so you can use it as a lightweight spreadsheet? And summarization and/or RAG-like search. Oh, and a small thing: native close behavior on macOS (so closing the last tab shouldn't close the app). But honestly i'm very glad with Obsidian as it is right now.

Ah yes, i know about formulas, which is really cool. But sometimes it's a bit much to make a whole base just to a couple of calculations because all of the individual items need to have a note.

It would be interesting to include an option to automatically delete files linked to a note when it is removed. Often, when I delete a note, its attachments become irrelevant, but they remain stored in the attachments folder, taking up unnecessary space.

Export to raw HTML with cross links and TOC. Resulting UX like a folder tree in a filesystem, but HTML. I want to export my vault so others can load it and view/navigate it using. browser applied to a file system directory of HTML.

A way to share a part of your vault with someone. Vaults would need to be composable I guess, but then you could obsidian sync a sub-vault with people. Notion and other online tools get this easier, but with obsidian sync I think it should still be a possibility.

Obsidian is really a great software. I always have it open, it’s like vscode but for writing. What’s missing? Integrated agents. 🧵

- Free-form writing in Canvas. - Make a Obsidian Base be based on a single JSON file, and not necessarily a group of markdown notes. - Scoping templates to folders or other note properties, handling many templates gets messy. - Auto-apply templates under certain conditions.

Access to note's content and images in bases, so I can show the first image and a content snippet in a card. Now I have to use a script to write these data to properties.

I don't know if it's wise to incorporate a todo feature set into Obsidian (such as reminders). But there is definitely a lack of a "file over app" approach in the todo universe. But maybe someday someone will develop "Lava." 😁

- mindmaps in canvas - Bases views: calendar, kanban… - audio notes: transcription - Not markdown… i know but i would like to have a 2 columns blocks - 1GB -> 5GB per repo - Task, Periodic Notes and Templater community plugins into core plugins?

Full drag’n’drop reordering and nesting for list items, paragraphs etc. On both mobile and desktop. I know it’s a big feature to ask from a non-block-based editor, but I just can’t live without it anymore, after using Notion for years.

This was one my big gripes but it's pretty much solved now. As of 1.10 the startup time is under 500ms with 17k files. And widgets in 1.11 makes it even faster to open. Are you using iCloud? Make sure you set your Obsidian folder to "keep downloaded"

Aye amazing! I’m terrible about keeping my apps up to date so I bet I just haven’t updated yet (seems like 1.10 was released about a month ago?) Also thanks for the tip, I’ll go double check that setting

From the roadmap, I'm most excited to see a search feature in Bases. Otherwise, it'd be cool to combine the outlinks and backlinks panels into a single thing instead of having two. Maybe it's possible with Bases, but I have yet to try.

Mobile performance tends to be an issue when working with lists, tables and text... I tend to move to source mode because it is a bit better... my vault is growing and the mobile usability is the least great feature :D

- Desktop resident mode (tray/menu-bar app) with background synchronization - Proper behavior of the Workspaces core plugin in Obsidian Sync environments - Dynalist-style view or Dynalist integration

I haven't kept up on this but it'd be amazing to easily keep images outside of Obsidian but be able to pull them up for viewing when I'm on the computer with the images. I'd like to write metadata for the images in Obsidian.

Prioritized sync? I want the most recently files I worked on to be synced first, so I can resume work on my mobile/laptop without waiting awhile for the full sync to finish. Larger storage for the sync service for the price A web interface that is secure/encrypted for when I need to work remote

A free, reliable solution for macOS / iOS / Windows vault synchronisation (ack Obsidian Sync 😞) A native way to use voice input shortcuts to append thoughts to my daily notes Greater flexibility to use paragraph / heading level metadata as an input to bases / dataviews (cf. file-level frontmatter)

A core “enrichment” plugin that augments existing data in a vault: identifies entities (people / organisations) and gives the option to creates notes with background information / links to external sources. Native connectors to standard internet calendar and contact services.

iOS shortcuts integration I’d love to go from an email in iOS Mail to appending smth to a note in a vault file The iOS shortcuts integration would allow: exposing the list of files, appending to a file, creating a new file etc. Thanks a ton!
