When I was a kid in a Detroit apartment complex, suddenly no kids were allowed out to play. We didn’t understand why. Years later, Mom told me one day two iron lungs were carried out of an apartment to ambulances, and the Moms shut us in. RFK Jr. Is of the same generation. Vaccines save lives.

People opposed to vaccines tell me those diseases went away for other reasons, not vaccines. Ask them, "how did those diseases disappear/ greatly reduce?" and they will make up something of just shrug their shoulders. They will say vaccines are dangerous. Logic does not enter the conversation

"clean water and sanitation" is always their first go-to. of course they have nothing to say when i point out that vaccines eradicated polio in India, where many of the poorest still live w sewage in the streets and the sacred cow allowed to poop where it pleases.

Water is not sanitized without government regulation oversight. Water care requires monitoring. Water departments are municipalities. Municipal water districts are under federal oversight. They try to claim it was entirely sanitation. Yes, it helped. Better diet and not packing children shoulder to shoulder in factories helped. But it's the vaccines that put the iron lung manufacturers out of business

I'm no expert, but I have been fascinated with the history of human diseases, and have read a great deal on it. drumpers have NO IDEA of the danger that these, and new strains pose to humans. Or maybe they do and just want people to die.

The reason vaccine preventable diseases still exist and spread is because of populations that don’t have access to vaccines. Defunding USAID would be a loss of $290M to worldwide vaccination efforts.

My aunt contracted measles as a child in the 60s and the fever cooked her brain. She is in her 60s now and still has the mind of a child. Guess what else-she relies on Medacaid/care. Sad that this is preventable now and they want to take it away. But at least they owned the libs! 🤡

I'm not trying to say that the mass killing of cats caused the plague or that cats would've stopped it. But rats were one of the primary ways the disease was spread. My point is superstition doesn't help it only hurts. In 100 years how much blame will religion have for what is about to happen?

According to the Cincinnati Enquirer schools were closed due to flu outbreak where one child died. I think that’s why Trump is decimating the CDC because of their reporting on diseases and not wanting to look like a failure!

If you want to know what it was like long ago, walk through an old Louisiana cemetery. At Magnolia Cemetery in Baton Rouge, you will find rows of graves from the mid-1850s, all from the same family who all died about the same time. The headstones all have the same inscription “Died of Yellow Fever.”
