This is Rooster. He has to wear a cone for the first time and he doesn't know how to act. 13/10 just gonna wait until it's over (IG: roostertheredretriever)

Yeah, my dog would just freeze like that as well. She did not like it one bit. Fortunately she seriously hated the taste of Bitter Apple spray, so I was able to substitute that in most cases.

Oh, she figured out how to escape the cone within hours, after that, it didn't matter how we secured it, she would escape it. Finally gave up and she never bothered the ear injury it was meant to protect.

Yes, the cone of shame. It lasted about 20 minutes on my golden retriever. He didn’t mind it that much, but he knocked over everything on the coffee table, on the lamp stand, he would walk through a doorway and catch every single knob. …maybe 30 minutes, lol. 🦮❤️

He is waiting for you to leave so he can take it off. I've never owned a dog that would wear them. Turn your back for 5 seconds, it's off. Why not use a surgical onesie instead?

The soft collars work well. For leg surgery/wounds, get a sleeve that covers the leg - no radar dome needed. I got lucky: my dog doesn't bother her surgery incisions (she's had a bunch), so I remove the cone as soon as I get home and just keep an eye on her.

Have you considered a soft collar? They are soft, don’t impede their vision, and are easy for them to sleep in. It was a game changer for my cat after surgery; the cone freaked him out!

Xena pouted all day. Our border collie's lasted 3 yrs. He absolutely trashed it and I ended up taking it off & just yelling at him to leave it.

Same. My senior dog wouldn’t move until I took it back off. After so long of him standing like a statue I couldn’t take it anymore and let him out of it. He was a good boy and didn’t mess with his stitches from a small tumor removal on his butt.

Omgosh, that color blue! You have the opportunity to create the greatest Lucciel Bluth cosplay moment of the summer. Grab your pearls and have serious opinions about curly fries.

Mine was a while ago—11 fractures, 4 hours of surgery, 3 plates 26 screws 12 weeks of no touch Your picture gave me flashbacks! But your toes look so much nicer! Hope you have an easy recovery
