Any time I fix anything in my house requiring glue i foolishly save the unused amount in the tube even though I know that next time A) it is not the kind of glue I need, or B) the leftover glue has hardened into a rock-hard solid mass

I work with Epoxy in aircraft construction on a semi professional level. The worst thing my club ever added to epoxy was beer that fell over while working on a wing. (Of course that thing was scrapped)

You forgot hairspray. Oh, wait, *that* actually works as glue and yet dissolves nicely in water. Seriously, hairspray is one of the best temp glues for dry situations. Dries fast, even coverage, and doesn't smell bad too...

It's duck tape, not duct tape. This is important for two reasons 1) Pedantry 2) When people see something called duct tape, they think it is safe for air-ducts. This mistaken belief can kill people.

Title text: "Some surfaces may seem difficult to glue. But if you research the materials, find tables of what adhesives work on them, and prepare your surfaces carefully, you can fail to glue them in a fun NEW way that fills your house with dangerous vapors."
