Everyone please stop worrying about “minimizing the danger of high e-bike speeds.” The problem here is that the media and public are wildly exaggerating a VERY small problem AND “BIKE ADVOCATES”ARE HUMORING THEM. Today was the third day in a row I came within a yard of a car hitting me while I was walking in a crosswalk, and today was way too close. I realize we have some drivers out there, but I think we need to ban cars until we can figure out what's going on.

Finlay Tarling’s death isn’t some outlier. I volunteered to drive the neutral support car for a women’s crit in a rural area. Every intersection had a marshal. Signage had warned drivers the race was coming. I had to use the car to block an enraged woman from trying to pass the entire field.

She was finally flagged down by a police officer at one of the turns. When we came around again a few minutes later, she was gone. No ticket. Don’t tell me there was nothing the cop could have done, because cops are experts at finding or making up laws and regulations to apply to people on bicycles

I was talking to my neighbor when a group of cyclists came by at maybe 25 mph. “That’s so dangerous,” she exclaimed. In the meantime, quite a few drivers came by at 40 mph, and she’s completely unfazed. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Don’t fucking touch your AC dial. Just ONE datacenter AI rack uses as much electricity as 100 to 500 window AC units. A small window AC unit uses about 400-500w. An AI rack can be 100-250kW OR MORE. Are AI companies being told to shut down? No. “Asked” to switch to polluting diesel generators.
