Tegan’s right, and Marvel should absolutely ret-retcon Origins. Giving Wolverine an established origin and past ruined one of the more interesting, productive aspects of the character. It’s tedious stuff.
I know they try to avoid doing catty old-school Thomas- or Byrne-style rugpull retcons anymore, but seriously the whole mess of “James Howlett” could be fixed with two pages of Kang being a little bitch

The people of Minneapolis risked and sometimes lost their lives to protect their neighbors. Yglesias’ insistence that people care more about HR trainings than a out democracy is just ideology.
Are HR training norms a more salient political issue in America today than ICE (a visible manifestation of US democratic collapse)? Is HR really a top issue for swing voters? I can’t find evidence for that. So I caution that committed partisans on social media might not represent The People.

I genuinely don’t know who profits from posting fake jobs. Data collection is my best guess.
Michele Evermore, NELP Senior Policy Fellow, on declining labor force participation: "Why are people dropping out of the labor force? Unemployment insurance is a pain to get, so no longer serves as a tether for folks, and something like a third of all jobs advertised are fake." #JobsReport

Even more visitors will be flocking to Iceland for the solar eclipse, so here’s a much-requested phrase in Icelandic (“Hello. I am fleeing the American century of humiliation. Can you show me where to buy Mountain Dew Baja Blast?”). Icelandic pronunciation tips: youtu.be/ivLPqkEaKOI
I have a pair of vegan solovairs that has been my go to three-season shoes for the last 4 or 5 years. They’re really great, and the quality blows vegan Docs out of the water.
The important thing to know about boots is that Dr. Martens was bought by a private equity firm a while back, the boots are now garbage in terms of construction quality, but Solovair set up to make similar boots on the old equipment in the old factory and their versions are much better quality.

The same dudes who won't shut up about 'reading theory' somehow managed to miss the entire generation of 2nd wave feminist theorists who spoke from personal experience about how the leftist movements of the 60s and 70s alienated women on account of the men acting like misogynistic dipshits.
One of the most frustrating things I find with men on the left is the disparity in how seriously they take critiques of racism vs misogyny The same men who will humbly self-reflect when told their behavior is racist do an offended, dismissive 180 when (even latent misogyny) is the claim. 1/4

The current state of American academia is that being trans and giving bad students bad grades is excuse enough for being fired but under no circumstances should you criticize legal "scholars" who spend all their time writing about why black people don't actually deserve rights
Defending criticism of an institution or group of which you are a member by locking ranks and claiming outsiders haven't the right does not work. It simply convinces outsiders that the institution or group does not want to be fixed. You gotta kill your own criminals, not defend them.

You know, after the last decade I feel like I understand the hippies’ “peace and love will change the world” thing a lot better than I used to.
Rep. Aisha Gomez: “To look at people standing up against ICE and see ‘paid protesters’ says nothing about us and everything about you.” “That you cannot conceive of us loving our neighbors so much that we would actually do something for them.”
