For decades we were told that this plant could exist because “carbon capture and storage” was going to sequester carbon in bedrock — Dear Reader, they told that lie so they could sell gas.

While the 2,500 jobs cuts are horrific enough for the workers and their families, worse still is the commentary that this is due to increased use of AI. The productivity “benefits” of AI are about cutting jobs and raising profits rather than living standards for Australians.

Markets are an important piece of social and food infrastructure. Markets such as the Queen Victoria market which rely on Epping for supplies provide Victorians affordable fresh produce and shared spaces for the community. Privatisation of infrastructure only benefits the private sector. #auspol

Much debate about where to from here after the shocking attack on Helen Haines. The answer is..Helen Haines. She has demonstrated through her non combative community approach to politics and that there is a better way to do politics. She is the leader … She is the example…do as Helen would do.

Since 1284, the wealth of Wales has been used to enrich English oligarchs, leaving Wales in poverty. And you can see the legacy today: six of the ten poorest boroughs in Britain are in South Wales - and all of them are places that generated massive wealth.

Amy notes that China has joined Japan is now onselling Australian gas. FMD we *really* need to tax the gas. Barely a more obvious policy has presented itself. One political party will do it and they will get all the advantage. #TaxTheGas www.thenewdaily.com.au/news/politic...

Why doesn't Labor work with the Greens to tax gas? Why doesn't Labor work with the Greens to build public housing? Why doesn't Labor work with the Greens to end AUKUS? Greens are happy to be constructive about things that materially benefit the public. We are not a rubber stamp.

Australia's PM is at climate week doing a big speech right now, and as it happens, I'm writing up my submission to Aus' proposed data centre energy rules. Which does not mention climate change or fossil fuel emissions impacts *at all*. What a hypocrite. www.pmc.gov.au/resources/ge...

Agreed. What a joke the Malinauskas government is turning into. Way to destroy an iconic region’s groundwater, environment, natural attractions and primary industries — all for for the failing fossil fuel vultures.
