The long running "investigate Spittoon" action in West of Loathing is so good. I love that not only does the narrator get more exasperated every encounter, the description of each Spittoon gets worse & worse. Masterclass in letting the player do the awful thing and rewarding them with more awful.

the concept of a "true clown" is underutilized in fiction to my knowledge, it's mostly just Kingdom of Loathing and a couple of Dimension 20 seasons that portray "real" clowns. a guy in a gorilla costume isn't a gorilla. real gorillas exist. a True Clown is like that.
