Exploit is out. No, I’m not going to link to it. Patch right now or take your service offline until a distro patch becomes available. This is not a drill

shitposts aside, this one is serious, my loves: if you’re just waking up and you have any service online running PHP 5.4 to latest, you need to take it down RIGHT NOW and don’t put it back online until after it’s patched absolutely catastrophic vulnerability dropped in the middle of the night

details leaked. this vulnerability is a full unauthenticated unconditional remote code execution exploit against any service running on a PHP version from 5.4 until latest yeah if anything deserves CVSS 11, this is it. this is CATACLYSMICALLY bad.

nightshade →home, for now@nightshade.technology

oh it's bad. oh it's BAD bad. oh this is CATASTROPHIC, drop-whatever-you're-doing-and-patch-NOW levels of bad cert.europa.eu/publications...

It's funny to me how Tim only ever thinks about the technology behind games as what makes them what they are. Games are art, and Tim's biggest mistake has been failing to recognize that fact.

Last I'll post about this, but Elon Musk disagrees with me. This means I am onto something, and I feel more valid in my opinion than ever.

People like to talk up how complicated and twisty the ending of American Psycho is, but the message is very simple and clear: real estate agents will gladly help you cover up a murder.

Well it finally happened... the preview for the upcoming September Garry's Mod update totally breaks Metrostroi. Traction voltage is always reported by all trains as zero volts on both the (now default) 64-bit branch and legacy 32-bit branch. I'm so sad and idk how I'm going to fix it.

Metrostroi has been slowly becoming more and more broken on the x64 branch for several years now, and since the mod hasn't been updated in ages, nobody has done anything about it. The workaround has always been to use the 32-bit branch.

Metrostroi servers will be hit hard by this since the addon will be rendered completely unplayable, so I assume someone will eventually make a patch to fix it so it's playable again.

I go to fan expo and whatnot and hope that someone is selling some Hat In Time art and nobody ever is :(

Transport Fever 3 has tiered pre-orders and day 1 DLC. Thanks Paradox. I think that Urban Games decision to work with Paradox will do irreversible damage to TF3.

X shuts down apps that show its posts. Bluesky exists to ernable it. One of these networks is about promoting freedom, the other is not.

nitter.net is down. xcancel.com may go soon, too. all the respect to the folks at nitter for their services so far, but to be honest, X completely locking itself out of the web is probably a net positive for us all in the long term

Australia’s eSafety commissioner buried a report (released Friday afternoon) that shows the under 16 social media ban didn’t tangibly reduce teen social media use, and also resulted in parents tuning out of kids usage. We traded our privacy for no reason. theconversation.com/more-than-80...

Not a Sony sample image but here’s the main practical benefit of LOFIC sensors for most camera users. They capture the excess voltage for blown out highlights so you can still recover those details

Quebec has to have the worst roads in Canada. I don't think there wasn't a single moment where our car didn't seem like it was about to break apart at every seam.

When they get off the bus, Council will return to their debate about the development charge reduction, including, presumably, how to cash this cheque. It's never going to fit in an ATM. Maybe photo deposit will work.
