This country doesn’t lack abundance. This country has a problem because a 0.1% of the population has hoarded wealth at historic levels that destabilizes everything and has done so with the assistance of the political class.

Many areas are seeing record snowfall this winter, thanks to global warming--or rather, global weirding! How so? It hasn't been cold enough for lakes other than Erie to completely ice over yet. As cold air sweeps across them, it's picking up moisture and dumping massive snowfall on the other side.

What folks are getting a tough lesson in right now: Institutions are people. They are not abstract forces that exist as firewalls or safeguards. They are just people who play a role and who perhaps have abided by norms, but whose decisions minute to minute shape the role those institutions play.

I honestly believe our most powerful position in a toxic time that feeds on cynicism, apathy,& despair is to genuinely care and act for a better world. Cynicism is our enemy. We should check it, incl. on the left. It’s not intellectually superior. It’s the virus they’re trying to infect us with. NO

Remember to take breaks from all the noise. Get outside, turn off the tv and put on something with no commercials, observe a tree everyday to see how it changes and grows as the seasons change. Do not forget that we are part of the cycles of the universe, and listen to the lessons it has for you.

Now, as the minority party, just how will they get that done? The leaders of each how will block it. How about - just thinking - YOU help them organize community meetings in the districts where they and you live. I've done that dozens of times. That's where they can't be stopped. Try it. It works.

We had a terrible mass shooting event in the mid-90s here in Australia. Our very conservative government at the time banned the majority of guns and enacted an amnesty and buy-back scheme to reduce the number of guns already out there. 30 years later, we've never had another mass shooting.
