EVERY SINGLE TIME I'm reminded of how stupid it is that LinkedIn's create post modal doesn't just let you drop an image in there.

Hey, let's monetize airport security and give the Saudis nukes. What could go wrong?

David Dayen@ddayen.bsky.social

The Trump administration is following through on a Project 2025 plank by allowing private contractors to run security next year at airports in Charleston, SC; Des Moines, IA; and Tampa, FL. @whitneycwimbish.bsky.social reports: prospect.org/2026/08/03/t...

I see a lot of you talking about "dopamine" and I wish you'd go back to talking about your astrological signs because at least then you wouldn't be confusing yourself about a real thing

Rep. Mike Levin@levin.house.gov

Not enough people are talking about this. A Florida airport was renamed after Donald Trump. He walked away with the trademark, the licensing rights, and a deal that lets him profit off every piece of merchandise sold there. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026...

Matthias -- rather than open a thread here I wrote a clear, simple, proposal to Automattic and Bluesky about how to connect their software. scripting.com/2026/05/23/1... It's really very simple, let's hook everything together and let the users and developers create.

Friend: Are you going to watch Trump tonight at 9pm? Me: Is he going to announce he is resigning? Friend: No. Me: Then I don't give a shit what that moronic traitor decides to blather about.

If only there was some way I could make money out of predicting that this will end up badly.

Discord is a member of Netchoice, the trade organization that's fighting these laws in the US, and they've shown up for pretty much every lawsuit since they joined. I can't say for certain[1] but I HIGHLY doubt they are doing this because they want to.

It’s hard to put into perspective how truly massive the warehouse is that was recently sold by the Rockefeller Group to the Department of Homeland Security for $70 million to build a concentration camp in Surprise, AZ. Across the street is a huge neighborhood and a school. It’s 400,000-square-feet.

Please pay attention to decimal places as you read this post. He paid $750.00 in income taxes [I am neither an accountant nor a lawyer so will make no further comment on that] and wants $10,000,000,000.00 because somebody leaked that fact.

We're doing the end of history, but for computers. And that's not how it works. Highly-specific knowledge is continuously deprecated. Critical thinking stays winning. There used to be a very lucrative gig known as a Flash developer.
