Visiting the US I just saw a Cybertruck, and my god it's ugly. It's even worse in person than on photos or videos.

20 years ago I was working at a startup called Flock. We made an open source web browser, it was the golden age of open standards, and life was good. Now when I read about Flock, the tech company using the .com we were using, it's sad to see the name associated to mass surveillance.

Somehow my brain got trained so when I see some sparkle icons in a UI, it means "feature that might somehow work but possibly show a wrong result".

Double request for an article. I'm looking for: - Researchers or experts in digital economies that are dependent on "whales", or where they play a significant role. - Crowdfunding campaign runners who attracted whales, intentionally or otherwise. DM or email (chase@rascal.news). Shares appreciated!

Well I don't know, but it would certainly be a good idea to stop assuming tech CEOs are tech geniuses. There's no reason why they should be, and they often make silly claims about the tech their companies are building. futurism.com/artificial-i...

My son's friend just got his father's PSN account scammed, with 11 years of purchases. The father is devastated, and it's not great for their relationship. PSA: don't give access to your accounts to your kids. Create accounts for them and give access to your library via a "family" group.

This is the "principle of minimal privilege": giving people more access that they need put them as risk of being responsible for a big mistake they could do. In this case, I feel like the father is as much responsible as his son because he shouldn't have given full access to his account.

Just for fun, I took a picture of my 7 Wonders end game and asked #gemini pro to score it. And it did. Without any mistake. I didn't even have to explain the rules. #boardgames

Having breakfast at a Jonathan in Tokyo, and there is exactly 0 human interaction! You sit at any table, order on a tablet, a friggin robot brings your food and you self checkout on your way out. The only employees you see are those taking away the dirty dishes.

Jaana was a distinguished engineer at GitHub and is now a principal engineer at Google. I expect more testimonials from accomplished engineers about productivity gains of AI in 2026. Engineers claiming AI tools don’t work well will increasingly look like a skill issue than a problem with AI tools

Oh no, my 2 hobbies are colliding, my wallet won't be able to handle it

We’re introducing Crash Derby 🏁 – a new board game we created with Czech game developer Albi. It’s a quick, action-packed racing game for 2–4 players 🚗💥 that works great right out of the box, and if you have a 3D printer, you can easily add your own upgrades. 🛠️ blog.prusa3d.com/crash-derby-... 1/2

I was asked to share my views on 3D printing as strategic industry for @LBC. Today, 3D printers are no longer just hobby tools - they build prototypes, medical devices, drones... The key question is: can we afford to use unsecure tech? ⤵️

Everyone is talking about how AI is a bubble waiting to burst and damage the whole economy. I agree, BUT that doesn't mean AI is useless or will go away. Just like the web didn't go away after the dotcom bubble burst. Companies should still think how AI impacts them, opportunities and risks.

I'm sick with media's fascination with Chinese super-apps like WeChat, saying how it's convenient for users and US tech CEO dream of that. That's just a super-monopoly, and it's bad for consumers. The current model where 1 app does 1 thing means you have freedom to choose each app independently.

I certainly understand why western tech CEOs would want such a monopoly, but the media needs to stop talking about this as a superior model because it isn't.

I've been thinking about the scene in American Pie where he streams from his room to friends while the exchange student comes to his room. That was hilarious but that would probably be received differently today, now that this practice exists and is known to be a horrible experience for the victim!

Gandi wanted 32€ to renew a .com. Are you f*cking out of your mind? Moved to OVH instead. It's very sad to see what Gandi had become, it used to be the best registrar in the world.

My guess at why the Nintendo Direct didn't include Switch 2 prices: that was prepared in advance and they wanted to be able to change prices at the last minute in case tariffs happen. Unfortunately they arrive right after the Direct!

@ouest-france.fr je paye un abonnement Ouest France, il y a moyen de désactiver les contenus trash clickbait qui se trouvent sous les articles dans l'application ? Pour un journal payant j'ai du mal à comprendre pourquoi je dois subir ça.

ChatGPT is actually pretty good at writing OpenSCAD code. So now when I have something to design to 3d print it, I describe what I want and get it to write the code. Then I make some adjustments to the code. It's way faster than writing from scratch.
