I heard about your app on the today show today and wanted to give it a try. I’ve been doing X and threads and thought I would come over and see how this platform was. I own a website called trendy direct and it is a affiliate marketing company and we have a diverse line of products

The question really is do we need high profile individuals on here. A lot of them do NO WORK in getting an organic following relevant to blue sky. They just mass copy bot their stuff over and often repost again using a bot. Organizations need very rigorous verification!!

It would be nice to have aliases. I know several people/orgs who want to keep their bsky.social handle but would benefit from adding additional handles for verification Also, perhaps a distributed "verification" system, just like the distributed moderation systems?

But it would be too distracting and maybe even inaccessible for some folks. Addibg music means BlueSky has to pay royalty fees. I'd rather have BlueSky to invest in other more useful things.

"Ever wonder what separates those who dream from those who achieve? Action. Today, take one small step toward your vision. The future isn't waiting-it's calling. Answer it. #Motivation #Growth #JourneyToSuccess"

We definitely need some sort of verification check or badge for high-profile people, orgs, and even businesses, so we know they are who they say they are, not fake accounts.

Team, let's say you are one of these so called "managers" and you are interested in exporting/tracking your engagement data in a simple way. Something that lets you put together some good charts with lines that go up and such. What's a good way to do that?

Let's say you've already communicated the success verbally by saying things like, "Um, so we're doing really well," and "Overall, it's been very positive," and now someone would like to see some math about that. What's a good way to get to the math?

Sorry to go on and on....but I get the feeling you might be getting ready for the Trump#2 admin. In that case you are dealing with a political ideology that can often times go against common sense. It is probably best to be predictable, learn from the encounter and comeback stronger for round#2.

I guess the best way to answer your question is to use some charts and graphs but also a narrative format that gives specific meaning to all of the numbers. Maybe something like, "This graph shows resources used to stop a harmful product from out on the market, or was recalled due to such and such.

It seems that the first thing you may want to present is the number of products and the reason why they have been removed. modified, fined or what ever action you took against them. You maybe able to create an estimate of how many people you have protected.

Ah, the classic fear of coding! It's like walking into a haunted house, you know there's a chance of frights, but the thrill of what you might create keeps you coming back. Embrace the chaos! 🖥️👻 #CodingAdventures

IMHO the proper answer for this one is the API and dev docs and some data munging. But surely it's worth a shot to perform a data export somehow and feed that to an LLM and see what it suggests for data visualization.

Still confusing, I have a domain and this looks like a pain. I'm a "semi-advanced internet user" but this network still feels like I need a degree in how the magic World Wide Web tubes work.

Why? It's not *great* security because you can get anonymous email easily (eg. Yandex or Proton), but it helps reduce abuse and illegal content if blocking can be by email address.

I do have a website. The only issue is it's a free domain yet. I do have my own domain, but I haven't migrated my websites just yet. I'm in the process of redesigning and restructurizing them. It's a slow process, because I'm a student and I also have a job. It makes it difficult to do anything.

How do we stop imposter accounts of [myaccount].bsky.social appearing? I get the “verified” one is the one with the domain but people will always get caught out… or is it okay to just register that and point them to the official one?

it's the same logic we apply to websites; nothing's stopping someone from going out and registering g00gle.com and pretending to be Google. Imposter accounts [account].bsky.social will always be a thing but hopefully users learn to identify those handles as less "legit" than ones w/ DNS verification

What if bluesky purchased a separate domain purely for verification purposes? Anyone registered via that domain gets a blue checkmark. Bluesky sets up a system so that, say, the talent agencies that represent said celebrities have the ability to add their clients in there.

Verification shouldn’t be about someone deciding if you’re important or not or well known or not. Verification should be about making sure you say who you are, whether you’re a “nobody” or a big A celeb.

The site has a strange bug. When I click "translate" under a post, it opens a translator in a new tab (which is probably not a bug here), but at the same time the tab with the post under which I clicked "translate" switches to the home page even though I didn't click "home".
