Very much this.

My first thought this morning? Victoria and Vancouver will need to work together to counter the cuts and setbacks that are coming. Harm reduction, non-market housing finance, housing density, etc, are all on the chopping block. @seanorr.bsky.social @lucymaloney.bsky.social Let’s hold the line.

A Florida man was found dead in his home during a welfare check in July 2022. Weeks later, one of the officers who discovered his body moved into the home and spent years impersonating him, according to investigators.

Since 2016, London’s cycling network has grown fivefold, from 90 to 450 kilometres. The results? 1.5 million daily cycle journeys—a 43% increase since 2019—twice as many bikes as cars on City of London streets during the day, and motor traffic in steady decline—having fallen 25% in the same period.

For four years, we've been told Vancouver is full of bad neighbours. We need a change. There's only one team with a plan for you to have a voice, a place, and a future in Vancouver. Vote OneCity for City Council, Park Board, and School Board on Saturday, October 17, 8am-8pm.

Saturday decides who runs City Hall for the next four years. Ads don’t get out the vote, neighbours do. We need people on doors, on phones and at the polls this weekend. Shifts are short, no experience is needed, and the company is excellent. Grab an E-Day shift: go.onecityvancouver.ca/eday

We can't tell you how to vote for mayor, but we can tell you that it's safe to vote for a voice, a place, and a future for all Vancouverites. • Better Community Centres • More Child Care • Safer Streets This Saturday October 17th, vote OneCity for Council, Park & School Boards before 8 🏘️🚲🗳️

One day to go, one last ride. 🚲 Before election day, we’re going back to where OneCity started: active transport. It’s why Safe Mobility anchors our platform — and why Vision Zero Vancouver gave us an A+ on road safety. So we’re closing this election the only way that makes sense: with a Bike Bus.

Iona Bonamis 陶思穎 wants you to be able to get around town quickly and safely without a car. We can achieve that with faster buses, active transport corridors, and housing choice citywide. Vote for Iona and the whole OneCity team tomorrow, Oct 13 or Saturday, Oct 17. www.onecityvancouver.ca/vote

There is so much at stake in this election. The latest announcement of Ken Sim and ABC would delay and politicize decisions for sidewalks, bike and bus lanes, inevitably impacting road safety. This is not what our City needs. There is Advance voting tomorrow(Sat.) and on Tuesday. So get out to vote!

A school board plans a school. A park board plans a park. The City plans the housing, the business permits, and the street in between. Nobody plans the whole neighbourhood. Here's the plan to fix that. 💜 🧵#VanPoli #BCPoli

Iona hates traffic. On City Council, she'll fix it. Early voting in Vancouver's local elections is on TODAY, 8am-8pm. And you can vote for Iona Bonamis 陶思穎, and elect an honest to goodness transportation planner to City Council. Ken Sim probably voted early. Will you?

A solid list of candidates chosen by Seth Klein. Coincidentally, it's the same ones I picked.

Vancouver friends! Second day of advance voting is today. In my newsletter today, I explain why Vancouver’s historic climate leadership hangs in the balance in this municipal election. And, for those curious, I share how I'm casting my ballot: sethdklein.substack.com/p/vancouvers...

I've been to 3 election events now. ABC has avoided public scrutiny at the mayoral, council, and school board level. Mike Klassen and Lisa Dominato did show up to a Cedar Cottage event - gave an intro and then ran away before they could be asked a question. They don't deserve to be re-elected.

Vehicle crashes are a significant source of preventable injury and death in Vancouver, and traffic-related fatalities have skyrocketed under ABC, who have taken no meaningful steps to improve safety for pedestrians, cyclists, seniors, and schoolchildren. We can change that.

This is the "Three/Four" - an accessible passive house 9 plex that could work citywide within existing R1 zones. To work it would need: 1. Remove (or) increase the unit cap beyond 6 units 2. Increase max height ~3m 3. Increase building depth (but keep the same lot coverage) 4. Remove density fees
