You guys: was Pulp Fiction on TV last night?

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump on DC: "Nobody wanted to eat out. They were afraid. Even if you were in the restaurant, people would walk in and like the Wild West, 'Hold it up!' Everybody is standing there. Can you imagine? A fancy restaurant. They were robbing the whole restaurant. It's crazy."

“No, YOU’RE a Cheescake Factory!”

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump is BIG MAD about Obama saying the White House now looks like Saddam opened a Cheesecake Factory: "He's not a smart guy. He's not smart at all ... for you to say it's a Cheesecake Factory, that just shows why you were a lousy president"

THIS. THIS is how the press needs to be engaging with this piece of shit. He made the rules; they need to meet him where he wants to play.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

😳 WOMAN REPORTER: Do sexual abuse allegations mean nothing to you, sir? TRUMP: Wait. Wait! Wait wait wait. Slow down. Who are you with? REPORTER: NBC, sir. But they are very serious sex abuse allegations TRUMP: Quiet! Isn't she a fresh person? You're a horrible little reporter, aren't you?

What a piece of shit. What a piece of shit you’d have to be to vote for him.

MeidasTouch@meidastouch.com

NEW: Vivek Ramaswamy says Amy Acton being a victim of childhood sexual abuse makes her “flawed” while defending his ad featuring her estranged mother. “In politics sometimes it's a tough sport.”

What amazes me is, for such a vain, narcissistic person, he really accepts shoddy work. The suits and ties, the hair, the makeup, the godawful coverup attempts of the hand bruising. If he’s so fucking rich, how does he look so awful so much of the time?

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

😳 here's pictures taken today of Trump's right and left hands. Both are looking really bad, and he's using makeup on each of them to try to mask it (note how the left one is now looking just as nasty as the right one -- that's new) (Aaron Schwartz/Getty)

Sidebar: is it just me or is it tellingly weird that he has a woman lint-rollering his sleeve at the end?

KetAnthropic JoshAI@ketanjoshi.co

The first genuinely honest ad for generative AI I've ever seen, from Microsoft / CoPilot A mediocre white guy sees his non-white colleague getting praised for good work, he asks AI to *literally copy it*, and then he gets all the praise instead: www.ispot.tv/ad/SoDi/micr...

Oh man, there’s gonna be some ketchup on the gold tomorrow!

The Washington Post@washingtonpost.com

Minnesota congressional candidate Eric Pratt’s campaign appeared to accidentally have clear instructions for its website, which featured the line: “The President is not popular, so all messaging should be focused on local politics and needs.”

MeidasTouch@meidastouch.com

Something is off with Trump tonight. The gaffes, the glitches, the confusion are well beyond his usual. "They gave the wonderful peace prize, right? Does anybody know the name of that peace prize? They gave the Pulitzer Prize to a young lady."

a “terrible lapse in judgment that I recognize as a call for help more than a criminal act.” Why not both? Just kidding. It couldn’t be a criminal act! He’s good at football. And that makes money for the right people.

CNN@cnn.com

Tennessee Titans coach Robert Saleh confirmed Wednesday that defensive tackle Jordan Elliott was released after pulling a gun in the parking lot of the team facility but said it was a "terrible lapse in judgment that I recognize as a call for help more than a criminal act." https://cnn.it/4yDQ6HQ

Do I detect a weird AI-zombie Paul Harvey vibe in that spiel about God making Trump?

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

oh my goodness -- Trump's entrance music in North Carolina is that cult ad they've played at the last two RNCs about how "God made Trump"

The look and sound of a man totally confident about how in control of his life he is. </sarcasm>

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

😳 Trump snaps at another reporter: "Hey! I don't know who the hell you are but you better be careful"

Another Trumpworld grift. “Sell[ing] a million of them” doesn’t “change the thinking”; it makes Peter Navarro richer. If he really wanted to “change the thinking” he’d give them away.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Peter Navarro uses the White House as a prop while making a deranged sales pitch for his book: "Buy one for a friend, and I'm asking you to do this because it's the only way we're gonna put Fauci in prison. If we sell a million of them to change the thinking ... "

I know I can’t believe it.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump: "The absolute mutilization of your children, where your son Timmy comes up five days later as Sarah, and you don't even know about it. Nobody can believe that's this country."

It is at the very least a super weird tic. And it is not just that.

Allison Gill@muellershewrote.com

Okay what's up with the thigh tapping? (I know there are more important things. I'm not distracted. I can wonder many things at once. I am medically curious.)

For all you blue wave believers, know that these “farmers and ranchers” would rather have some ‘frustration’ than vote for a woman, let alone a brown one, for president. ‘Frustration’ is, to them, a small price to pay to wage war against immigrants and trans people. They think it’s a culture war.

The New York Times@nytimes.com

“There’s just a lot of frustration.” For a decade, farmers and ranchers have been a core part of President Trump’s coalition. But as the impact of his tariffs and the war in Iran fuel discontent in agricultural communities, economic anxieties are testing the loyalty of rural voters to the GOP.

Totally true, but also very out of date. They tore that library down for a mall a quarter of a century ago.

Aaron HM@aaronhm.bsky.social

“The internet is a store but it used to be a library” hits me like a slug to the chest

“I was brutally attacked by 50 masked men… they just kept kicking me and kicking me…” Jewish @washingtonpost journalist Heidi Levine describes getting attacked and robbed by West Bank Israeli terrorists (backed by the IDF & 🇺🇸 taxpayers)

Hooray for Trump.

The New York Times@nytimes.com

Hunters on some public lands in Alaska will be allowed to bait bears with doughnuts soaked in bacon grease before shooting them at close range, under a rule the Trump administration released Friday. www.nytimes.com/2026/10/16/c...

Has anyone in Israel condemned it yet? That’s an article I’d like to read.

The Washington Post@washingtonpost.com

Several elected officials condemned the attack on Washington Post photographer Heidi Levine, who was beaten and injured by masked Israeli settlers in the West Bank. Levine was treated for broken vertebrae, a broken rib and lacerations throughout her body.

Guys, come on. Look at how at the four second mark, when it hits the inverted flat, it actually settles with a slight bounce…upward. Only at the end of the ramp does it behave like an object in gravity—which is to say, it drops like a rock.

The Washington Post@washingtonpost.com

Tesla demonstrated its long-awaited Roadster at a SpaceX facility, using four rocket thrusters to propel the car through the air. The demonstration marked a milestone for the supercar, which has been in development for nearly a decade. https://wapo.st/4Bac9YR

Fucking savages. Fucking terrorists.

The Washington Post@washingtonpost.com

Masked Israeli settlers attacked Palestinian villagers on Friday, setting olive groves on fire and slinging rocks. Caught in the attack was Post photographer Heidi Levine. “They just kept kicking me and kicking me, like probably 50 times,” Levine said. https://wapo.st/4yt6dHY

He’s the washed up rapper, right? Who machine-gunned woke cases of beer?

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Kid Rock on Fox & Friends: "It appears that El-Sayed is assimilated ... and I would like to make the point that there have been other people who have assimilated to this country. The Fort Hood shooter. Those extremists that became pilots and crashed into our World Trade Center."

Cold comfort, I know, but bear in mind he doesn’t know what a nuclear bomb actually is. He just thinks it’s a really big bomb. He is, as you must know, profoundly stupid.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump what he's thinking about dropping on Iran: "This is an extremely large bomb. It's like a tiny nuclear bomb."

Another First Amendment hero not understanding at all what the First Amendment is about. And then he ran out and got all Kareny about being recorded. Man you’d think legislators would have to know at least SOMETHING about law.

Christopher Webb@cwebbonline.com

Good gawd, Andy Harris is a piece of work. He’s about to lay the bullshit on REAL THICK about why diesel prices are through the roof, and his town hall audience can’t control their laughter. People know the truth. Even his own constituents are calling him out. #BlueWaveIn20Days

You look good for 100, silly old bear.

Will McKinley@willmckinley.bsky.social

"Winnie the Pooh" by A.A. Milne was published #OTD in 1926. This is the edition my father read to me in the '70s. I gave it to a girlfriend in 1998 in hopes of delaying our inevitable breakup, and felt weird about asking for it back. I hope she shared it w/ her kids, if she had any. #BookSky

I think the west coast is probably more at risk from your true love in North Korea—who actually has nuclear weapons—but okay.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump: "If Iran had a nuclear weapon, within 24 hours they would use it ... they'll start hitting us on the west coast ... so this is a very small price people pay. I thought it would go up much higher."

“make sure they aren’t misused”. Sure. Piece of cake, humanity being what it is.

The New York Times@nytimes.com

A SpudCell can grow, copy its DNA, divide in two, and start its cell cycle all over again. But this cell is made by people, created from lifeless ingredients. They may one day produce new medicines and materials. But first scientists have to improve them — and make sure they aren’t misused.

Statesmanlike! 🤣🤣🤣

Baltimore Banner@thebaltimorebanner.com

Republican Rep. Andy Harris incorrectly told a reporter they were breaking the law as the reporter and others recorded an exchange with him last night. Harris had just wrapped up a debate with Democratic challenger Dan Schwartz.

Boy those earrings sure contradict what’s going on between them, huh?

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

did Trump ... did he really not know Nidal Hasan is paralyzed until AFTER he approved the livestreaming of his execution by firing squad?

That’s a tall order, though. If anything the last 20 years has shown us we just want the same old shit over and over again. AI just might be cliche because that’s exactly what we want it to be.

John Bleasdale@www.johnbleasdale.com

AI perhaps offers us a really great opportunity if we choose to take it. The one thing it produces is cliche. In order to resist it, we must declare a war on cliche. We must make our language and remake it. Our visual imagination should be shaken up and strive for the shock of the new.

So breach the fucking contract already. That’s the only route that’s a win.

Ant@agramuglia.bsky.social

So Danny Trejo was manipulated and tricked into being in Ben Shapiro's newest film. Holy shit.

So, super duper qualified then!

The Washington Post@washingtonpost.com

New White House press secretary Katie Zacharia held her first briefing on Oct. 13. Zacharia replaces Karoline Leavitt, who left the role on Aug. 27. Zacharia is an attorney and mother of four who was previously a commentator on Fox News and Newsmax. https://wapo.st/4jg3opO

Boy, nothing says “I’m a decent human being” so much as using the phrase “white slavery”…

It was so bad I felt sorry for a member of the Trump administration.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

😬 Katie Zacharia's first press briefing was brutally bad 😬 Trump managed to find a press secretary who can barely read, but she does have the number one qualification -- looking like Ivanka Here's a supercut from Zacharia's first briefing, which made Karoline Leavitt seem like Ronald Reagan

It’s weird how gay he is without anyone—including himself—realizing it. Maybe all his raping women and children is his trying so hard to deny it to himself.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump on Jon Husted: "I don't do this with men very often. I started examining his body, because I didn't know he was a great athlete ... I looked at his ass"

Remember when Iraq invaded Kuwait and Bush 41 thanked Saddam Hussein and characterized Iraq as eager for peace and Kuwait as intransigent? Oh wait, that’s right…

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Wow — listen to these new comments from Trump. Thanking Putin, trashing Zelenskyy, characterizing Russia as eager for peace and Ukraine as intransigent. The mask is totally off.

Well, he *was* in front of their vehicle, and he *was* running. So, case closed!

Rachel Maddow@maddow.bsky.social

Harris County TX. He's hospitalized: "ICE claimed the man ran in front of the agents' vehicle and was struck. However, the surveillance video appears to show the SUV veering left through empty parking spaces before running the man over..." abc7.com/story/ice-ru...
