On Monday, I'm recording a podcast with @ketanjoshi.co. He's going to present the strong version of THE CASE AGAINST (AI) DATA CENTERS. Tech company fuckery, discarded green pledges, the rush to gas, the empty promises that AI will help reduce emissions ... all of it. Got questions?

We must save our arts. They cannot be allowed to dwindle away or be accessible only to a few.

I’ve written an open letter (found IN the link below) in my attempt to help #SaveSquareChapelArts (Halifax) & managed to get a group of well-known pals to back my cause. 🙌 I’d be enormously grateful if you could read the letter & repost. 🙏🏻 Many thanks x www.canncomms.co.uk/post/open-le...

You may have seen reports about the campaign for charities to be more 'transparent' about who funds them. Well it turns out the mysterious new right-wing think tank behind it won't say who funds or runs them, and used fake names for the authors of the report which launched their campaign

Well said. How many of Tommy Robinson’s Sport’s Direct paramilitary division go and help or worship at the churches they claim they want to protect. It’s much easier to don a balaclava and shout at the RNLI. #HopeNotHate

This made me snort my coffee, as had been discussing with eldest about miserable bus driver deliberate leaving stop as some poor. Chap jogged as fast as he could to catch it.

Alistair Coleman@alistaircoleman.bsky.social

Bus operator Stagecoach is asking passengers on dark mornings and evenings to wave their phone screen at the driver to urge them to stop. I suggest putting the onus back on the company, who should be fitting push-button signs like this to all of their stops. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

Dividends paid to UK citizens taxed at rates of 8.75% to 39.35%, lower rate than wages. Dividends mostly go to the top 1%. £6bn a year raised if dividends taxed at the same rate as wages. More if NIC levied. Unlike the US, France, Germany, no UK tax levied on dividends paid to foreign investors.
