Imagine the system that creates a man of such astounding racism, ignorance and dishonesty, and allows him to rise to such a position of power. He is bullshit in human form.

#bbcbreakfast Brexit has not been “reopened because of Andy Burnham”, but because: - it’s turned out to be a costly mistake - geopolitics shows we can’t rely on the US, but need to work with our neighbours with whom we share common interests - the public has turned against it

Keep an eye on the moon tonight, it’s the full Hunter’s moon and reached its peak in the early hours of this morning. 🌕 The name traditionally reflects the time of year when people prepared for winter by hunting and preserving food. Look towards the autumn sky to catch the moon glowing. ✨

Trump’s goal is to intimidate me and get me to back down. That’s not going to happen. I will not be silenced, and I will not stop fighting for my constituents.

This photo neatly sums up the two possible reactions to Trump these days. Closing your eyes and pretending it's not happening, or staring with undisguised horror.

Analysts “predict” Putin will cater Iran to Trump in exchange for Ukraine. You may have this illusion, if you ignore the fact that Russia lies, steals, and terrorizes. Whatever he offers now as a bait, will be long forgotten or claimed to be “lost in translation” soon after.

Olga Nesterova@onestpress.onestnetwork.com

Lavrov confirmed that Russia is returning/sending more civilian nuclear technicians to Iranian NPP Bushehr. I dare to suggest the war will be “settled” by Russia “guaranteeing” to ensure Iran “behaves””, without anyone actually controlling what’s going on. In return, US pressures Ukraine.

The Covid Inquiry’s Module 6 report is devastating. Its central conclusion: adult social care was treated as “something of an afterthought”, while “protecting the NHS” sometimes came at the expense of people receiving and providing care. 1/10

JD - I've got 15 free minutes before my son's hockey practice ends, so let me see how many of Trump's enrichment schemes you didn't see that I can remind you of. 1/ First one is easy: Trump has executed over 30,000 stock trades, many on inside information, netting him millions.

It's interesting that some people are exercised about how to assess #oracy. We don't have to formally assess something to consider it valuable and worth doing. Yes, assessment supports progress but you can just do it through observations. We're trapped in an 'only what is measured counts' mentality.

This commentator says they "use turn & talk ~20 times per lesson so pupils rehearse the knowledge I explicitly teach". Sorry but that's not oracy, it's performative compliance. Language is *expressive* and *communicative*. It's not a test of how much you've memorised.

One thousand percent!!!! And more… Musk is a fool, a fraud and now a traitor! No amount of money should allow one man to manipulate the cretin in the White House and destroy the lives of millions of rational human beings. Time to pull the plug on Musk and his business empire. Evidently money talks.

Russ Jones@russincheshire.bsky.social

I don't know how many lines have to be crossed before the remaining democratic West realises this fucking maniac cannot be permitted the power he's accumulated. We have Musk. Or we have established international security norms. We can't have both.

A new teacher told me yesterday that they couldn't experiment with a different way of starting the lesson to see if it helped with focus and attention because the school had a set way of delivering lessons. I think that's really sad. We are in danger of stripping all the creativity out of the job. 😕

This stinks that a plaque at an English castle acknowledging Caribbean prisoners of war got taken right after it went up. It’s an insult to those who got it placed and the memories of the people it commemorates. Usual motive for something like this is: 1. We hate “woke” 2. Want the metal for scrap

Badenoch tells PMQs "all of the gas" from Jackdaw "goes into the British grid". This is misleading - the grid is connected to Europe, so once gas goes into the "British grid" it's often sold abroad And anyway, it would only produce 2-6% of UK gas output at peak.
