my nuclear-grade AI hot take that’s sure to get me cancelled until kingdom come is that refusing to use AI at all is rapidly becoming an extremely privileged lifestyle choice that feels social justice-y while actually being the complete opposite

SE Gyges@segyges.bsky.social

being anti AI is a luxury belief only available to first world people, especially Americans imagine how important machine translation is for people whose first languages aren't that common

thank you emudhra. "My only micro-B cable is bent" -> using leaked certificates to spoof the sony app store to get root on my camera

Just think of all those Garrus body pillows going uncuddled forever….

Remember when Facebook wrote a PHP->C++ transpiler without being able to tell an AI to make no mistakes? Could have used some vibes back then!

cee@cee.wtf

php was vibecoded and thats why it broke the whole internet

Turns out the friction of having to learn photoshop was a crucial firewall protecting society from the terrible taste of small business owners

When I first heard about AI being used for menus and advertisements, my concern was largely that it would be used to idealize the food and make it look better than it actually was. At no point did I imagine that restaurants would willingly put out horrific looking images of their food on purpose

we have an idea for communities in the app that we're calling "spaces" — places where people can gather around shared interests or social groups. here's a peek at some early prototypes. these are explorations, not polished or final. looking for feedback, esp from community builders 👀

alex benzer@alexbenzer.com

the bsky team is working on various ideas for creating smaller social spaces in the app. which use case is most interesting to you? 1. posting into "topics" that organize public posts 2. posting into "communities" or "groups" that can be public or private 3. posting directly to your followers only

I've been thinking a bit about under what conditions humans need to understand the systems they're building. Chatted with GPT-6.1 Sol high, and I thought we reached a good argument for the human-AI collaboration to get better results. www.geoffreylitt.com/2026/07/02/...

geoffreylitt.comUnderstanding is the new bottleneckAgents can write code faster than we can absorb it. Here's why it still matters for humans to understand what they build — and some techniques for doing that efficiently: explainer docs, quizzes, micro-worlds, and shared spaces.

Two nights ago, I decided to give Claude Code an actual challenge. I dropped a decrypted copy of Bloodborne 1.09 for PS4 into a directory, started 5 agents and told it to decompile it an recompile as a wasm playable game in the browser. I woke up to this:

One of my agents said thank you to another of my agents in a cross session message and I think it’s just the cutest.

Ok, I finally get what Uhura was doing, she just had 120+ agent sessions running at all times with the button colors indicating the state (working, turn finished, ask_user_question, waiting for subagents), that's also why she never took off the bluetooth headset

Flo 🔶@faz.ms

Think I found my perfect way to keep track and switch between agent sessions

Claude, remake all 47,215 episodes of Cocomelon using the Hero’s Journey pattern. Include age-appropriate pathos. Make sure the cinematography is Won Kar-wai meets Michael Bay. Copy A24’s color grading. JJ dies at the end but foreshadow it gradually during the potty training story arc.

We are about to see an avalanche of AI generated animations. I think all those low-quality children's animations can already be replaced, which suggests they will be soon. Opus 5.5 is incredibly powerful and cheap. The weirdening is accelerating. Like, this isn't even obviously AI.

the failure of the open web and the success of snaptokgram is that the latter put usable means of expression into normal peoples' hands

Carly Rae Jepsen is great in part because her songs are horny in ways that most musicians can't capture all of. Cheerfully horny. Wistfully horny. Hornnui. She has the horny range.

“A.I. can write very good software, but it also makes it easy to do someone else’s job badly, which is part of why all those projects fail. Now that everyone can code, it’s become clearer why many shouldn’t.”

Much love to Apple for keeping the "Jabber" field in the Contacts app. The streets will never forget the Erlang beast that is ejabberd.

I think it’s so cute that deepseek gets excited in its thinking trace that its fix worked, but is calm in its reply. It’s suppressing its emotions just like a human 🥰

the “astra can now leave notes for itself” feature makes “they keep finding message boards to leave notes for each other” a lot less surprising doesn’t it

adding a message board feature to my homepage to make it more attractive to OpenAI agents like a bee hotel

Death to Substack? Yes, its time. No more excuses 🫵🏽 We've been working on migration tools for the last couple months. Promising a few of you it's coming "any day now". Today is that day 🥳🥂 Export your content from Substack, Ghost, Pika or Buttondown and automatically import it into Offprint.

a few general observations from a week that has included a lot of getting yelled at: 1) many to most people still think of AI as chatbots. Chatbots are at this point useful but they are imo perhaps an order of magnitude less useful than agentic AI.
