Not a spoiler but absolutely see You Can See Everything in a crowded theater, this is one of the "the crowd's reactions are part of the experience" movies of all times. The yelps when something cursed happens or is revealed enhance it so, so much.

I see we're having a debate about whether it's okay to go back to "X," the site owned by a trillionaire fascist who is currently bankrolling the GOP's midterm, throttled Ukraine's war effort, and still winkingly allows vast amounts of CSAM on his service Answer: No, what the fuck is wrong with you

The "is AI slavery" discourse is exactly what the tech bros want. It doesn't end with fancy autocompletes having human rights. Its logic ends with you having fewer rights. If you believe AI is sentient (it's not) & are down with enslaving it (it's not slavery), then why do human labor rights matter?

No joke. I think this is the most important video I have ever seen about mobile games. This guy breaks down how this game psychologically profiles you, and makes the game harder or easier in order to show you ads

On September 30, the state of Tennessee tried to murder Pike. Instead, it put her through an hour and a half of difficulty breathing as she intermittently gasped for air and was eventually sent into critical condition, in a notoriously “botched execution” — in other words, torture.

buff.lyWe Must Move Beyond the Era of State-Sponsored, State-Celebrated MurderLet’s build a world in which the torture of Christa Pike — or anyone — is unthinkable.

It is never just one case gone wrong. There are always so many other survivors who were mistreated before any of these stories make it into the public eye.

Today at the Supreme Court, my home town of Boulder, Colorado is going head-to-head against ExxonMobil in a case that could determine the future of climate litigation and holding Big Oil accountable for the toll of its harms and lies. Boulder County residents who have lost homes and health spoke.

Even more depressing than the knowledge that congress is now overrun by effective altruist and overall TESCREAL cult member staffers, is the number of billionaires in these cults that are going to be created by the OpenAI and Anthropic IPOs.

Replying to @melbuer.bsky.social

I view those “creatives” who use AI to generate creative work with the utmost contempt. In your laziness you have denied yourself the chance to bring forth the depth of your singular human experience and share it with others. You have turned the artistic process into an assembly line Disgusting

Reading, and writing, are holy. I love reading novels because they tell me something. They say: "this is what someone believed enough to dedicate months or years of their life to say." This is just as true for the trashiest pulp as it is for the highest literature.
