For just over the price of a tank of gas, one can share opinions about the RTM regional transit measure with tens of thousands of households in the Bay Area! This one urges people to vote yes on RTM to fix the streets and reduce traffic. 🚃🚌✅

Thanks to everyone who came out to promote #MeasureRTM at the Berkeley bike bridge and help save Bay Area public transit. It was a beautiful morning, with many supportive honks from drivers crawling toward the Bay Bridge on I-80!

The elections are on next Tuesday, and so much is at stake, including the soul of the Democratic Party when it comes to transgender people. I am asking you to leave a very small number of races blank in which a Democrat has embraced extreme anti-trans hate. I make my case here.

erininthemorning.comDon’t Vote For The Worst Anti-Trans DemocratsThe Democratic Party should, and likely will, win big in the midterms. We must not send the worst anti-trans voices to join them.

I’ve been asked why I didn’t receive an endorsement from the #DSA. It’s because I’m too far left for them. And their members act like a priesthood for baptizing leftist candidates, when I’ve been at this longer than they’ve existed. Literally in the case of some of these condescending youngsters. 🌹

Today, for @rewirenewsgroup.com, @madisyn-writes.bsky.social looked into the to the limited data and conflicting guidance around breast cancer screening options for trans women. It's troubling. And it could have life-changing consequences for patients. I hope you'll give it a read.

extremely funny that violent crime in Oakland is at historic lows while Oakland PD is also having an historic staffing crisis. almost like we should,,, abolish the police perhaps???

“For starters, she would like to see big corporations taxed at a higher rate, with that money moving into small business development.” Tragic that we’re having such a hard time finding politicians with the will to do what’s necessary.

"The Bay Area does 1.3% of America's driving but pays 5.2% of the income taxes now bailing out America's highways"

Cyrus Hall@cyrushall.bsky.social

America's Highway Trust Fund spends far more than it brings in in gas and truck taxes, and the US constantly bails the fund out from the federal general fund and by taking out loans. The Bay Area will pay ~$1.3B/year to bail out the fund yet again, starting in 2028. From @maxmautner.com.

It’s almost as if all the bullshit #captcha tests I’ve had to do for big tech over the last couple decades weren’t for actual security 😲 (sarcastic Pikachu face) but to train these models to subvert it so they could have even more advantages over smaller companies.

The thing I wish cis people would internalize is that you cannot rationalize your way out of this being in your coalition. I MUST treat this as a serious risk to my life because it might be. These ads force trans people to move through the world differently and it's rational for us to do so

Corry Frydlewicz 🏳️‍⚧️ reposted

the handful of die-hard anti-trans voters that exist are going to vote GOP no matter what. so this ad will not pick up a single new voter. all it does is further disenfranchise trans ppl – a marginalized group MAGA hates. this is a pro-MAGA ad & Turek is furthering MAGA's cause by airing it

Erin Reed@erininthemorning.com

Josh Turek of Iowa, Democrat, comes out with one of the worst anti-trans ads yet. Not only is it an anti-sports ad, it proposes a ban on federal funding for gender affirming care. That would hit all medicaid and medicare patients, and any ACA federally-subsidized plans as well. Horrific.

I prefer no-phone concerts by far. It’s so sad to me that people (other than folks who need devices for accessibility) have such a hard time putting them down for a couple hours. 😔 We all need a break from our screen addictions.

Older buildings provide a lot of cheap housing, even though they aren't required to charge low rents the way subsidized affordable housing is. This often works OK, but there's risk of big rent increases when buildings change owners. Helping existing owners out, or helping nonprofits buy, can help.

I have spoken to so many survivors who have avoided opportunities—including running for office—because they worry that their abusers would resurface and terrorize them all over again if they were in the public eye. It’s craven for a political campaign to weaponize that.

People telling you that both sides are the same so you shouldn’t vote is a psyop. If voting doesn’t matter then why is one side trying to make it so difficult to vote?

At a community meeting in #Emeryville this weekend, one of the participants asked us: How can voters know if a candidate will do what they say they will? Why should we believe what you say on the campaign trail? Here's how I determine my trust in local candidates. #fppc #transparency #CorrysBlog
