Despite the significant investments ploughed into artificial intelligence it has provided “zero payoff” to corporate America outside of technology, according to Apollo's Chief Economist Torsten Slok. Read more: bloom.bg/3UO2c30 📷: Victor J. Blue/Bloomberg

This chart shows the key risk to the AI trade, and it's missing from the latest revenue announcements. The AI boom is fundamentally driven by a top 1% of companies that drive 80% of spend. Within that top 1%, 80% are venture-backed.

Business Insider confirms it: Amazon has warehouses of GPUs that can’t be installed, and is buying them so far in advance that a supply chain team said they “didn’t have a clear forecasted path” to installing them. www.businessinsider.com/amazon-220-b...

Free newsletter: I estimate that ~50% of AI chip sales - $200bn to $300bn+ - are sitting in warehouses, with NVIDIA selling hundreds of billions of GPUs years in advance. Data centers take way longer to build than hyperscalers are leading us to believe. www.wheresyoured.at/wherere-all-the-ai-chips/

My review of the film "Digger". Aesthetics: Gorgeous! Plot: Fine, though the antihero's comeuppance is arguably lacking, and thus less satisfying. The "this film is actually depicting people putting on a Broadway play in the future" artifice is unnecessary; slows pace & complicates comprehension.

The play aspect only really pays off by adding 1 rant. Doesn't come anywhere close to ruining the film IMHO, but I guess it could rub some people the wrong way? Does feel *gratuitously* artsy/high-concept. 6.5/10, Worth seeing for the visuals and some good absurdist comedy scenes alone.

Sen. Cramer endorses Trump making billions on crypto schemes while in office: "If we punished every POTUS who was successful at something & said they can't legislate, if they were a farmer like Jimmy Carter they can't sign a farm bill? There are lots of potential conflicts, but it's all about Trump"

“men need a positive model of masculinity to follow!” skill issue tbh. women make up femininity as we go and then argue with each other about whether random aspects are bad. there are a hundred schools of femininity and all of them allow you to steal your brothers jeans bc they have real pockets

With over eighty acting credits across his career, no one would ever accuse Back to the Future’s James Tolkan of being a slacker.

Now feels like a good time to remember that Big Oil is the reason why we're still hooked on dirty, dangerous fossil fuels. The industry's lies have essentially stolen a generation’s worth of time that we could have used to transition to cleaner, safer energy sources. It’s time for accountability.

the Zendesk spam waves are great because they tell you a lot about a person based on their initial reaction. I've seen like ten people just assume it's a targeted attack and shrug it off

I legitimately didn't know they were competing with Steam and it's crazy to me that they burnt so much money on what sounds like something with very little (or wildly misguided) market research.
