My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today. Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man.

God. Damn. This was an amazing reply. He didn’t back down, explicitly called out the Islamophobia of the “just asking questions,” and then flipped the guy’s bigotry back on himself. This may not change hearts and minds, but feel like it’s an answer that’ll motivate his own base.

Trump on El-Sayed: "His name is actually Abduladadalalalala. It's Adulbabababababa Mohammed Al-Sayed. So his middle name is Mohammed. So I was right. He's a jihadist."

You'd have to be a real piece of shit to vote for this racist asshole. I usually try to keep my social media language clean, just the way I like to communicate, but he pushes me to the edge. Fuck Trump, what a horrid man.

Feel free to correct me but I'm pretty sure he is the only politician in history where the actual words coming out of his mouth do not matter in the least to his supporters. Coherence is simply not a requirement.

Trump's brain is busted: "You couldn't vote. They wouldn't let you vote. And they grabbed her and they said 'you'll vote over here,' and they took her to a Democrat area. She voted. She came back. You couldn't vote. They came back late in the night."

Greg Sargent@gregsargent.bsky.social

The other day, Talarico leaned hard into the case for immigration as a positive good for our country in a way you rarely hear from Dems. He has a real theory of the case: Trump's cruelty and barbarism have opened space for new moral arguments, a new consensus. 2/ newrepublic.com/article/2160...

Symbols matter. White House isn't a palace. Kennedy Center is for the general public to enjoy. We don't have a triumphal arch in DC because that's imperial. We don't put the president's face on money because it's monarchical. It's about tearing down everything that says we're a democratic republic.
