Here are a few photos from my first day back to work in NYC after September 11. I chose to walk from Penn Station to the financial district where I worked. NYC was a pretty amazing place in those days. It really brought out the best in people.

Not trying to preach, and I know gas prices are going to have real effects on people’s lives. But if you live in a place that is at all walkable, and you are healthy, walking a couple of miles is not a big deal. It's actually kind of nice.
