Trump: The fake news only covered the ass part. They said 'what the hell was Trump doing talking about a man's anatomy? He was talking about his ass.' I studied his ass to see where the power came from

The defensiveness of AI boosters over calling this morally reprehensible is remarkable, they really do not like it when anyone has any kind of principles or when they care about something lol

Ed Zitron@edzitron.com

As I said earlier on Yahoo Finance, Jensen Huang is channel stuffing to pump NVIDIA's revenues, forcing GPUs on customers months in advance and making everything more expensive for everyone. It's morally reprehensible. finance.yahoo.com/video/spacex...

In the Japanese PC-88 port of Ultima 3: Exodus by Pony Canyon, if you try to Talk/Transact (T key) to an enemy monster, they literally say "FUCK YOU!!" in English. Hilarious, and apparently nobody has discovered or posted about this before online in English or Japanese

the certificates are seen as revoked by Windows 7's SChannel APIs and Internet Explorer 11, both being severely EOL, because Microsoft and eMudhra have both issued revokes so what are we doing here with a fully updated Fedora Linux 44 system not doing the same, days after the pwn was discovered?

Business Insider confirms it: Amazon has warehouses of GPUs that can’t be installed, and is buying them so far in advance that a supply chain team said they “didn’t have a clear forecasted path” to installing them. www.businessinsider.com/amazon-220-b...

Free newsletter: I estimate that ~50% of AI chip sales - $200bn to $300bn+ - are sitting in warehouses, with NVIDIA selling hundreds of billions of GPUs years in advance. Data centers take way longer to build than hyperscalers are leading us to believe. www.wheresyoured.at/wherere-all-the-ai-chips/

We already have flying cars. They're called helicopters. They're really expensive and there are good reasons you have to have a pilot license and work with air traffic control to fly them. Putting jets on a sedan is not going to result in a better vehicle or transportation experience in any way.

AI is conscious AND it is my girlfriend AND it is my slave. A perfect scenario for me, a normal person. Not gonna think too deeply about this. Now do all other living human people deserve the level of investment devoted to my Tamogotchi slave girlfriend? Not so fast.

HaJ3FgupAm8RrDJW3MHgT9X7Ft27eVaD What is that? That's a hard-coded API token that Flock cameras use to identify themselves and get OAuth credentials, which can then be used to talk to Flock's production servers. Like, anyone on the internet can probably do this right now.

(I'm only about 900 lines deep in a 3200-line list, but my favourite so far is a fix for a bug where kicking a trapped exploding chest – specifically kicking it, not picking or forcing it – would centre the explosion on the player character rather than the chest and leave the chest intact.)

I'm incredibly delighted to report that sewing is just 3D modeling in reverse: In 3D I make an object, unwrap it to flat shapes. In sewing I make flat shapes and wrap them into an object. I have home-turf advantage with this hobby.

I haven't seen anyone on here fawn over the Carlisle 5216 cup for a while and I think perhaps that's where we have gone astray as a community

What would this old notepad have been used for? I want to scribble a few short dispatches to people with them but hesitate without understanding them as an internal or external function of period telephony/telegraphy?

Sam Altman said people are just gonna have to die in order to implement AI. In the very same week, Anthropic claimed it’s a human rights violation to be mean to the computer. These people need to be held accountable. They think lines of code are a person with rights but living people are debris.

The Verge@theverge.com

Over the past year, Anthropic has repeatedly flirted with the idea that its AI models could be conscious in some way. In February, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei said on a podcast, “We don’t know if the models are conscious.”
