yeh tbh if AI is so great you should be proud of it, you should disclose it everywhere and put a bunch of stickers yourself that you used it for your project showing everyone how cool and cutting edge you are, no? like, it's the future right? you love it right??
I think it’s funny that they spent the entire blog post jabbing at valve only for the launcher to use proton to run windows games. Like congrats your launcher runs faster but it also wouldn’t exist at all without tech that valve funded
This shit is why you can't separate continuing to financially support the Harry Potter IP (whether by buying the games, merch, watching the new TV show when its out) from the consequences of what JK Rowling does with that money
She's become so stiflingly powerful that even private docs arent safe
These are not people whose "opinions" and/or "criticism" you should repeat under any circumstances because it's all dogwhistles at best and overt racism and calls for violence at worst! Why have we not learned anything over the last ten years! (I know why, but like, why)
Unions are a great way to help developers, but how can regular fans help?
Just remember the one-two punch!
1. Support games developed by unionized devs! (An easy way to find out is to look up Studio+Union)
3. Circulate pro-union material (like this post) and keep the conversation alive!
There's a level of AI usage in game development where, if you read between the lines, the developers are saying "we're only using it to placate the failson seagull so he'll get off our case and we can get back to work" but they can't say they're just jangling keys for a bloviating manager.
apparently there's a mod to remove gay marriage in skyrim like bro you're literally the only person who gets married at all in the game and if you need a mod to prevent yourself from getting gay married that says something about you
I will say this again and again even as someone who works on (ugh) "brand protection*, if the company(ies) in charge of something accidentally leak something out early they shouldn't be able to go after people who simply report that was out there as damage control.
