Replying to @fascistdemtracker.bsky.social

Also, I'm a full believer that there's no such thing as a spoiler candidate. A candidate either wins a vote or doesn't. If the mere presence of another option loses a vote, then that's on the candidate and no one else.

Anybody who tells you "well, the Dems just HAVE to be Transphobic because most Americans don't support Trans rights" is doing this same dance: cherry-picking data points from shoddy, slanted surveys with questions designed to engineer that output.

Otter Poppa's Poppaler Nature Facts@peezkyweezky.bsky.social

A solid examination of the people who may not be intentionally disingenuous, but aren't interested enough in the truth to bother growing out of their attachment to a compromised, corporately-captured party whose strategies are always "Move Right" even when it throws whole groups under the bus

we shouldn't blame libs for the lesser evil thing it's not like our entire canon of stories and cultural mythology have told us to stand up for what's right even when it's hard as we all know, every cherished hero abandons a marginalized group and capitulates to the villain right?

y'all need to reckon with this. no deflections. no excuses these candidates aren't "parroting Republicans" they aren't "fake Democrats" it's not "just for the race" this is the Dem platform, and these are real Democrats that the party supports stop voting for this. stop defending it.

Josh Turek of Iowa, Democrat, comes out with one of the worst anti-trans ads yet. Not only is it an anti-sports ad, it proposes a ban on federal funding for gender affirming care. That would hit all medicaid and medicare patients, and any ACA federally-subsidized plans as well. Horrific.

A lot of folks keep saying "this wasn't an immigration issue." It matters that a custody order was carried out at the end of a gun by this country's immigration agency. This was deemed to be within their scope of authority, to do as they see fit. That IS representative of our immigration system.

I grew up without speaking Spanish because my foster family wanted to hide the fact that my biodad is Mexican. I feel embarrassed for how poorly I speak it every day. Watching white liberals casually throw around "gusano" to defend border patrol pointing a gun at a Cuban child feels pretty gross.

Incredible

Once again: I bring up the tourniquet analogy A tourniquet is not a solution to a problem; it's not going to save anyone's life by itself What it DOES allow for is for the person to survive long enough to actually get to a doctor and get an actual solution

It's absolutely insane that this needs to be said but: Defending ICE as an institution is anti-immigrant no matter where your family came from. My family being from Jalisco does not give me a pass to excuse funding la migra, regardless of who is president.

I'm anti immigrant? Damn. I wasn't aware. I'll let my latin family know

What messes TERFs up is trans people are just out there living their best lives, and no matter how hard JKR and friends make it, trans folk still find love and joy and community, they still create art and beautiful noise. Terf brain can’t handle it, they must destroy what they don’t have.

Martin Luther King was much more successful than Malcolm X for example. Before that, there was no need for a bloody civil war in most countries that abolished slavery. Just votes. Independence can also be bloodless. Gandhi in India, Walesa in Poland, Mandela in South Africa. The list is long.

Liberals have become convinced they're the smartest people in any room because they spend all day comparing themselves to MAGA, the dumbest people in any room. I know this isn't a new idea, I'm just extra frustrated by it today.

Again, we have done upwards of 300 focus groups since outset of 2021 & in ones where we asked folks open ended what's wrong with Dems zero times has anyone volunteered anything about trans people. It's possible, yes, to lead them there but it's not top of mind.

Fascinating tidbit in this interview with former Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan (R-Beaumont), he says that Texas Republicans anti-transgender ads aren't "resonating." "What Republicans are talking about is just not what the swing voter is really interested in." www.texasmonthly.com/news-politic...

"First you wouldn't vote for Democrats over Gaza. Now you won't vote for Democrats over trans people. What's going to be your next excuse?" I dunno man probably the fundamental and non-negotiable human rights of some other marginalized group

look if shit is so dire for the democrats that they NEED every vote from trans people, maybe they shouldn't run candidates who are transphobic or fold on even the slightest pushback to trans rights it's not our fault y'all's guys suck

im glad the libs are coming around but y'all need to face that you were Tommy six months ago

Q: Will you disavow the Muslim Brotherhood? El-Sayed: Yes. Why are you asking the question? Do you assume that I wouldn’t? Q: Yes, because I have not heard you disavow them yet. El-Sayed: Have you disavowed them? I have not heard you disavow them yet.

people who devalue anonymity are not your allies they are privileged enough to eschew any need for it and believe those less privileged are simply cowardly let them get arrested; they can pay the bail

"All these assholes driving on the wrong side of the road are honking at me."

Every. Single. Response. to my earlier thread about 10/7 (and there've been literally hundreds) is about one thing: Emotional Reframing. 100% pure propagandist responses. And so many of them hitting on the very same few "issues" (twisting of my words). Almost like it's coordinated.

the existence of the Rude label was a bigger red flag for what these people running the show are like than i think ppl could've even realized at the time
