Walter was more than Chekov. He was a writer, a teacher, a thoughtful man, and a loyal friend. To the fans who loved him for so many years, thank you. He loved you too. Rest well, my dear friend. Keep navigating a steady course. – George

The Labour or Fascism panic isn't very convincing if you look at Farage's plummeting popularity.

They are panicking because reform are falling in the polls and it’s the old and angry who watch the news during the day. Because those who work dont.

Watching Farage live introduce the Reform 'Economic Rescue Plan' something seemed amiss. He seemed tired, oddly flat & lacking his usual vim. Tellingly he riffed at length about the 2010 & 2015 UK elections & Brexit - as if he has become a nostalgia act reliving his greatest hits.

The allegations against Donald Trump for sexual assault seem to have a common denominator: He is physically violent and intentionally inflicts pain on his victims. He likes to slam women and girls up against doors and walls as he roughly manhandles them. Donald Trump is a sick and twisted person.

NEW: "Donald Trump was an active participant in Jeffrey Epstein’s sexual abuse of young women during the mid-to-late 1990s," per new House Judiciary Dem report. Report has new allegation that Trump raped a 24-year-old and then promised the victim a visa & NYU admission, demanding she stay quiet.

It is annoying enough that I have to download an app. I do not want to be told the "strong" alpha-numeric password doesn't match when you WON'T LET ME SEE IT. I don't think any woman invented anything so stupid- security so secure that it's hidden from me.

Okay, this is usually something that would happen in a country the Sainted West condescends to, not the heartland of the European project. How the mighty obnoxious have fallen.

Hi @micheal-martin.bsky.social, this is illegal. Can you ask your Minister for Justice to send his guys down to arrest the pilots and give asylum to the renderees? Thanks.

My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today. Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man.

Just got an email from BBC. "Ever wondered what your TV Licence funds?" I replied: Please don't thank me I never watch or listen to the BBC. But I still have to pay for your anti Scotland propaganda or get fined for owning a TV receiver. Please remove me from your mailing list.

The lessons from Brazil and Serbia? Don't concede one inch of ground to the far right. Don't appease. Don't triangulate. Don't grovel. Don't say they have "legitimate concerns". Mobilise your base, and fight them with all the democratic means at your disposal.

Another thing that hasn't changed is the fact that many in the UK seem to think it's the EU that needs to change in order for the UK to join, rather than the UK.

I don’t know folks, it seems to me that the kids might have been right about their ruling class being full of deeply racist, misogynist sex offenders. Perhaps that whole Cancel Culture panic was badly wrong, and apologies are in order? Not least because it was obviously vexatious *at the time*.

The reason the English voter would do that comes down to English Exceptionalism and the loss of the totoms, symbols and status harking back to imperial might would be lost. No UK* No Union Jack* No Commonwealth* No permanent seat on the UN security Council* 3/

Aw shit. The other wee Chekov was absolutely delightful, but died tragically young.

My pal Danielle Koenig shared that her father Walter Koenig passed away last night at age 90. A performer whose kindness and warmth shone through the screen. He will be well remembered.

I’m not even being facetious here: a really high profile all-media assault on the BBC as a den of racist hatred, with fingers pointed at all kinds of famous and important people, shouting al lthe usual fun stuff, would be very helpful. Let’s see how committed everyone is to this bit.

A long, long wait at Perth meant I missed the Elgin train at Inverness, but I got the next one. Must've been a cancelled train at Perth; crowds of people got on to a 3-carriage train and stood all the way. The window for connection is always tiny, storm or nae storm.

Cannae wait to see North Andy in his ermine as Baron Manchester, and his wee media fanclub in Scotland all queuing up for a selfie.

Just realised that more than anyone else, the political figure Truss most resembles is Keir Starmer: he too was a clueless bimbo hired to do the bidding of a bunch of malignant back office swine, only too happy to do and say whatever they wanted if it meant he got his turn in the big chair.
