The Sound Transit board is about to vote on a 2027 service plan that starts 2 Line service 25 minutes later every day and ends it 15 minutes earlier Mon-Saturday to provide more time for system maintenance. Claudia Balducci jumped in to say that the agency's goal should be running trains 24/7.

A presentation today at the Puget Sound Regional Council shows that just a few cities across the region are producing housing at a race on pace with growth targets since 2019/2020. Seattle, Redmond, Kirkland, Shoreline, Port Orchard, Woodinville are exceeding targets, but 26 out of 40 aren't.

The slow growth advocacy group Cherish Kirkland is pushing the Kirkland City Council to not officially oppose the two anti-LGBT initiatives on the November 3 ballot because "neighbors who will vote the other way" won't feel represented.

This arterial looks like a freeway. It's no surprise that people drive on it like it is a freeway. I'm worried about the exact same thing happening to NE 85th St. with all the widening and huge freeway-like signs being installed as part of the interchange rebuild.

Missed this update last week at the Mercer Island City Council, but it looks like the looooooooong closure of the I-90 trail there is finally coming to an end. Landscaping work is the final step and the trail should be reopening by the end of the year, according to MI City Manager Jessi Bon.

The American Dream—buying a house in the suburbs and watching it increase in value to the point where subsequent generations need to move farther and farther out to obtain the same thing at a comparable price, but with an even more soul-crushing commute—was always a Ponzi scheme.

Do you want the City Traffic Engineer to be able to implement safety improvements on all streets in our city without having to beg historic boards for permission? You should send this letter to the Pioneer Square Preservation Board asking them to support letting the traffic engineer do their job.

Awful sign outside the hospital. I-638 would require young girls in WA state to have a genital exam before they’re allowed to play sports. Supporters say not so, but young girls will be exposed to all sorts of harm. If this was too controversial for Florida, why the hell is it on our ballot.

So Bellevue is really going to spend $22 million widening three intersections and this is apparently not enough vehicle spending for the Chamber.

The Bellevue Chamber of Commerce is on board with increasing the sales tax and adding a car tab, with conditions: -Keep funding the $75M Spring Boulevard project -Increase the "Underperforming Intersections fund" -Protect "vehicular capacity" projects -Keep sales tax revenue out of neighborhoods

The Bellevue Council is considering a potential 0.1% sales tax and $20 car tab for transportation in a budget work session tonight. Kemper Development is here asking for those new dollars to be focused on road capacity, calling bike and pedestrian improvements "lower demand infrastructure."

By bussing instead of driving, ~30 people prevented ~25g of tire particulates from running into our waterways. That much tire dust would’ve leached 130ug of 6-PPDQ, extremely toxic to salmon [1]. This much 6-PPDQ would contaminate 700 gallons of water to a degree that’s lethal to coho salmon [2].

On the buses to Fishaqua (Issaquah) for Salmon Days! If all 30+ people on the bus+shuttle drove their own cars instead, it would shed 25000mg extra of tire particulates into the watershed
