I hope folks realize this Bab al-Mandab situation will be much worse than the Strait of Hormuz if it’s not sorted out quickly. And it doesn’t currently look like it will be sorted out quickly.

Hillary Clinton: "I love Israel, and I hate Netanyahu's government and his policies. I love America, and I hate Trump's government and policies ... if the Israelis want to vote for that again, then I think the United States has to take a very tough position."

Reporter on Bond Market: The yields have come back up since then. Have you talked to Bessent about another type of intervention.? Trump: The ultimate intervention is our military. And if we have to use that, we will.

Trump: "I took three cognitive tests. Aced all of them, by the way. I'm the only president to take a cognitive test. I don't think Obama could pass it. The first question is very easy -- it's a lion, a giraffe, a bear, and a shark. They say, 'Which one is the bear?'"

We should say what Trump always says: “A lot of people are saying it. I’m not saying it, but a lot of people are, ok?”

Trump on troop deployments: I seem to have great support. CNN came out with a poll today that I'm at 100%. They said they have never seen a poll like that. The CNN poll said I'm at 100%.

He’s also sending Witkoff and Kushner to Israel on Tuesday. Probably nothing to do with global markets cratering and oil going parabolic

Jesus, Japan’s Nikkei index is down over 4,000 points, over 7% South Korea’s KOSPI is down 8% and hit a circuit breaker. Tomorrow is gonna be brutal, but it will probably also eventually make Trump TACO.

Let’s talk Iranian war. You’ve probably seen a lot of hand-wringing over missile interceptor quantities. Are we running out? Can we fight for years? As usual, the answer is somewhere in the middle. Bottom line up front: interceptors are a finite resource. That’s a fact.

"Golden Age"? Bloomberg Eco forecasting that the monthly jobs report for January due tomorrow will show that the number of jobs created ending in 2025 will be lowered by some 1 MILLION as part of the BLS's annual benchmarking process:

Translatation: the jobs report sucks.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Peter Navarro: "The jobs report comes out tomorrow. We have to revise our expectations down significantly for what a monthly job number should look like ... Wall Street has to adjust for the fact that we're deporting millions of illegals out of the job market."

Whether it's a Hillary Clinton staffer asking John Podesta how to make risotto or Elon Musk asking Jeffrey Epstein where he could find a party featuring child sex slaves, there's plenty of embarrassing emails on both sides.

I keep seeing posts stating that ICE cannot enter your home or a private business without a judicial warrant. While that is legally correct, in reality ICE routinely violates the law by forcing their way in, often by smashing down doors, before violently assaulting people. Trumpism is fascism.

Eric Wistrand reposted

I am not exaggerating when I say ICE functions as a terrorist organization in the Twin Cities. The goal seems to be to harass and frighten people (the ones who are lucky enough to not be abducted, at least) and it's deeply unsettling when you learn they're in your neighborhood.

TAPPER: You called Renee Good a "domestic terrorist." Why did you not wait for an investigation? NOEM: Everything I've said has been proven to be factual and the truth. This administration wants to operate in transparency. T: What you said is not what happened N: It absolutely is what happened

WELKER: Has the president crossed the line of impeachment? CHRIS MURPHY: I have common sense. I know this president has committed 10 times more impeachable offenses in his second term as he did in his first. He's stealing from the American people.

We evacuated our kids out of Minneapolis this weekend and my spouse reports that as she drove them out of town she saw "multiple freeway exits where people are being pulled over." It feels like the Twin Cities is being subjugated by a hostile occupying force.

MacCALLUM: You have about 100,000 dying from drug overdoses, most of those drugs from from Venezuela and other places CROW: That's actually not true. The majority of the deaths by drugs in America are the result of meth and fentanyl. Almost none of that comes from Venezuela

Walz: "We've got conspiracy theorists, right-wing YouTubers, breaking into our daycares, demanding access to our children. We've got the president demonizing our Somali neighbors and wrongfully confiscating funds that Minnesotans rely on. It's disgusting and it's dangerous."

Trump: "The only time anybody could see those planes was when those bomb chutes open up, because it becomes totally un-stealth. You're going in, you go like this. As soon as it goes like this, for some reason the plane is totally visible. Not good. I watched it happening. I watched it go bing bing"

Trump on his wife's legislative initiative: "I just heard about that for the first time. The only thing I can tell you, I know one thing for sure, it's going to be great for children. I don't know what it is she's doing. She loves children. She's got a wonderful boy. And she's very proud of her boy"
