New statutory instrument: Councils in England can seize empty homes after six months, not two years, as of 5 November The Govt has amended the rules governing Empty Dwelling Management Orders (SI 2026/1085). 'Negative procedure' so it will go through quietly unless someone 'prays' against it

For ages, I tried to hold faith in a “better” America. The proposed live-streaming of an execution, and the abandonment of Ukraine unlocked a deep rage, and clarity that no matter how much times we might hope America is not this, right now, it IS, and we must deal with it accordingly.

Farage honks his mouth off about ongoing police investigations, when told not to. His Welsh leader is in prison for taking bribes from Russia. He whips up riots. He’s in bed with Trump, foreign money, crooks and crypto billionaires…. A massive problem with national security is Farage himself.

Liar. Small boat crossings peaked under Johnson in 2022 reaching 46,000 in 2022. In current year they are 18,565 and falling. Also prior to Boris Johnson's Brexit there were none.

London's homicide rate hit its lowest level since records began. Yet 40% of the public thought that murders had risen since 2019. That’s the danger of disinformation. We cannot accept it, and to defeat it, we’ve got to put pressure on the social media companies who profit from it.

Shouldn’t Psycho Pinocchio 🤥🍊💩 first cough up the $2,000 he promised everyone last November, supposedly to arrive by “mid-2026”? Just asking. Just asking…

The question that keeps occurring to me is this: If a group of people had taken office with the deliberate intention of destroying the global standing, democratic claims, credibility and power of the United States, what would they do differently? www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

With all respect to the BBC, the reason this story "matters" is not about whether it distracts from Reform's conference. It "matters" because it is important our leaders are not conspiring to break the law.

Food companies wanted deregulation. Now there are dozens of recalls across the country. Mining companies wanted deregulation. Now the black lung rate is at a 45-year high. Financial companies wanted deregulation. Now financial losses to fraud are the highest on record. Noticing a pattern?

The US decision to launch a trade war against Canada while it is in the midst of a foolish war with Iran, while China is laughing at its weakness, while the deficit is exploding and bond markets are calling BS... shows that the US government is not acting in US national interest.

Another no-show from Nigel Farage at Reform's press conference this morning. Still not a single public appearance from him following his supposedly epoch-defining, establishment-crushing by-election victory

Just had a thought. Farage registered a £9,253 benefit from George Cottrell funding a Belgium trip in April 2024 - before the GE. This is the time that Farage and his allies say he was "not in politics." He declared that, but didn't declare the £5m Harborne gift. Something doesn't add up there...
