First film you saw at the cinema. The real first one, not the pretend one you tell people! Mine: The Empire Strikes Back, 1980, Wigan. We were near the front and I can still remember how massive the AT-ATs looked, looming over us out of the snow :) Film, year, where, and whatever stuck with you.

Get your pumpkin carving kit *now* before it's later tonight and you convince yourself a steak knife will work just fine, but it won't and you'll be posting on Bluesky saying, "I just lacerated myself carving a pumpkin. CPSC is going to be so disappointed in me :( "

Joe Dante once made a list of the worst horror movies. I've seen most, but the others are available.

"The only way for places like Modern Times to exist in the future is to actively challenge the reasons why it can no longer exist." It's so hard to see all these Twin Cities Institutions, cafes and places of respite, closing. It's heartbreaking. These cafes are revolutionary spaces.

tired: bluesky is dying wired: bluesky is slowly turning into a minnesota-only social media network. Soon it will become another local curiosity like saying "parking ramp" instead of "parking garage" and playing duck duck gray duck

I am excited for Metro Transit's G and H lines. My main critique is that they should switch names. H is a very vertical letter, so it should be a North/South line. G is a curvy letter, which fits the curves of Como Ave. Unfortunately, they are backwards and it confuses me constantly.

So Bree hinted at this story a few days ago, but I want to circle back now that I have permission to share it. WHISTLES OUT: A WHISTLE CREW MYSTERY

Ghostly Bree@mostlybree.kitrocha.com

and the lady in our inbox who caused us to go into a Whistles Out: a Benoit Blanc Mystery spiral for half the day because she had rallied so many people to request whistles to the same town that we thought it was a scam, but no she just convinced like 700 people to mobilize and we love her so much
