the washington free beacon is trying to october surprise abdul by revealing his comms chief used to post bangers

the other day a little girl was biking in the opposite direction as I was on the 10th ave bike lane and held her hand up for a high five. I reciprocated (naturally) and that gesture fixed my soul for the next like, year at least.

in a very profound and real way this guy was the secret sauce behind the Coens features. Heavy use of storyboards is an incredibly important part of how they work. Doubtless when they work together again they'll be able to find someone to suit their needs, but dude was the Ringo to their John & Paul

Incredible vignette while walking Miga: bent-over old guy in newsboy cap unlocks his giant $70k Genesis SUV while smoking a cigar. His cell phone rings. The custom ringtone? The Godfather theme. He squints at the phone, puts it to his ear, and shouts “WHAT PART OF ‘FUCK EM’ DID YOU NOT UNDERSTAND”

First look at Dwayne Johnson as the Chicken Man in Benny Safdie's ‘LIZARD MUSIC’. The film follows a young boy who finds a secret late-night broadcast of lizards playing otherworldly music that opens a hidden door to the whimsical Chicken Man.

My somali-american colleague described "somalian" as being akin to someone saying my last name was "irelandish"

Boo!-per Lund@cooperlund.online

A friendly reminder for the well meaning people I see making this mistake: If you want to refer to the community of Somali-Americans use Somali, the proper term, and not "Somalians". Anyone from Minnesota hears "Somalians" and braces themselves for something racist.

it's hard to describe to young folks how cool airbnb was when it first launched. just weirdos and spare rooms for like twenty bucks. we stayed at a guy's house in oregon who was a "bear safety expert" and when we asked him what to do if a bear attacked you he replied, completely seriously "i dunno."

Airbnb is banning its hosts from making guests do things like “stripping the bed, taking trash offsite, or washing and putting away dishes.” The hosts....are not taking it well: www.wired.com/story/airbnb...

The big question on my mind is how many of these people are people who would never have voted anyway? You ever talked to a nonvoter? They have insane politics, and I think in part that Donald Trump's whole deal was that his crazy matched theirs.

“I’ve checked out.” @bloomberg.com www.bloomberg.com/news/feature...

If Trump had been a capable politician in any way we would likely be seeing a political reorganization not seen since FDR, but because he (thankfully) can't deliver on a single goddamn thing beyond "lining his own pockets" we're seeing his supporters step back from politics.

forever hilarious that the FBI spent dozens of staff-hours listening to the Kingsmen recording of Louie Louie over and over to see if they could identify actual obscene lyrics and missed the part of the song when the drummer drops a stick and says "fuck!" loudly enough to be audible

You’ve heard of the five star three star movie. What Amanda Seyfried dares to ask with THE HOUSEMAID is: what if there were such a thing as a five star two star movie

We all know the "Viggo broke his toe" story but what's another movie fact you're personally compelled to bring up every time without prompting? For me, it's the fact that Robin Tunney is wearing a wig in The Craft because of having just shaved her head to save her job filming Empire Records.

it is really funny that Alberta has a referendum with like 10 questions about "Immigrants, are they evil or simply parasites?" when like half the province's population comes from internal immigration from the maritimes.

a person uprooted their lives to live on a frozen prairie and work in the oilfields, but as a followup, do they yearn for the sea and codfish? if so, hero. do they yearn for tropical heat and mangoes? if so, dirty foreigner.
