Introducing TanStack Redact ๐ŸŒด A smaller runtime for your existing React app. Add it to your build config and ship less JavaScript without changing a single line of application code. Works with TanStack Start, Vite, Vinext, and Next.js. tanstack.com/redact

So its goodbye San Fransisco after a slightly unreal week in Silicon Valley. Last year I lost my father Tim Pollard to cancer. He was many things, Robin Hood, an omni nerd, a sci-fi buff, avid collector and gadget addict. We shared that love of science fiction and futurism.

Now Iโ€™m visiting it for the first time, as much more a part of this industry than I ever knew I would be and in some ways building out a future I donโ€™t think my Dad could have believed. I really do hope that I can hold to some of what made that future feel bright and aspirational

And San Fransisco was a landmark in the geography of that as the โ€˜futureโ€™ site of the Star fleet Academy of Star Trek fame. It was wear the โ€˜goodโ€™ future would come from. And as I grew up and bought my first Mac that โ€œdesigned by Apple Californiaโ€ became an unmistakable sign this place was special.

this was very good and articulated a lot i've been feeling lately. in formalization, this effect is even more noticeable: decoherence is punished by the agent being stuck in the maze for days when otherwise it would've made progress in 30 minutes but i think this applies broadly to software

My thoughts on the current state of AI driven software development, why I'm no longer concerned about a runaway intelligence explosion, and what I think is a far worse outcome we could be walking into maevyn.codes/decoherence

Change my mind: there's no better stack than Vite+ (build/test/lint/fmt), pnpm, and @danielroe.dev's uppt (releases + staged trusted publishing) for developing and safely shipping Node/TS libraries.

Oldie but goodie: Don't listen to users (watch them!). I canโ€™t count the number of times I had to explain this to well-meaning engineers, who thought the way to good UX was asking users what they prefer. www.nngroup.com/articles/fir...

New in Claude Code: your sessions can now message each other. Instead of having to re-explain yourself in another session, you can now tell Claude to do it. It sends a summary (not your history or files), and the other session picks it up mid-task.
