7-8ish years ago, I went to a speakeasy in Halifax under a dessert shop where you have to give them a password that changes weekly (they have a hard-to-find email list for it). I subscribed then and every week, without fail, I get their password. I have no intention of going back but it's comforting

Windows peeps! Is there a directory that is on your PATH by default that the Gleam install docs should recommend you use for the precompiled binaries?

I love it when I find another person that is in two unrelated, niche communities that I'm in

I can't help imagining people as their profile picture if they use a photo, even if it's obviously not a photo of them

I have a very important question: is there a number 3 version of "electric boogaloo"?

Person on the internet: "I want you to change this thing" Me: "please tell me why you want it changed" Person: "I don't want to. I just want it changed" Me: "to change it, you first need to tell me why" Person: "but that's not something I want to do" ...yeah I'm just walking away from this

Everyone makes jokes about how violent programming terminology with all the killing of processes, but no one ever brings up all those poor darlings that die in writing and other arts

While I do like the occasional modern pop tune, none of it beats the intense visceral feelings I get from listening to a lot of stuff from the 70s-90s (usually rock or melancholy slow stuff)

My sponsorships have steadily gone down for the last couple of months, if you have a couple of bucks to spare and want to help out that would mean a lot! There's no such thing as a sponsorship that's too small
