It makes sense that business types would want a national curriculum because it's easier to sell. It explains why so much civics education is focused on the federal government and the constitution and not state and local government. Who's going to make money designing curriculum for Wyoming?

James David Bowman, known for wearing eyeliner and having written a largely fictionalized autobiography, accuses the democratic senate-candidate in Michigan of being "fake".

This is such important work, and the thing to keep in mind is that when AI people tell you that games will be personalized for you, this is the kind of thing they are more likely to mean.

Morgan Johnson@poormojo.bsky.social

No joke. I think this is the most important video I have ever seen about mobile games. This guy breaks down how this game psychologically profiles you, and makes the game harder or easier in order to show you ads

I'd also like to point out that it's probably not the corruption that pisses Trump off, but rather that he didn't get his own slice of it.

Marisa Kabas@marisakabas.bsky.social

listen i won’t shed a single tear for kim or any of the women who work for trump, but it remains interesting that only the women in his orbit suffer consequences for being pieces of shit

The part that struck me was their insistence that they know the kids at the UT game "aren't assimilated" because despite being at a football game and having the same shitty fashion sense and the same goofy hand gestures as white fans, they still look Indian. Gives the game away.

TRUMP, throwing insults at Pope Leo: “weak on crime” “terrible for foreign policy” “catering to the Radical Left” “owes his position to me” “sit down and mind your own business” POPE LEO, unbothered: “We are called to love.”

I bet insurance companies are thrilled with the Trump administration‘s message to policyholders that they need to file claims on every policy they have or they might risk losing it.

Yet another example of an "It's great as long as it only hurts OTHER people, and doesn't affect me" Republicans...

Republican nominee for Maine’s 2nd congressional district Paul LePage says he supports Trump and ICE but is outraged they are deporting one of his relatives: “He’s being deported because he came from a country that’s not to the liking of certain people in Washington.”

In general, I prefer to assume stupidity rather than malice. But the most charitable interpretation here is that Converse did not have a single black American working on their ads team... Leading to this stunningly awful fumble. THIS is why DEI hiring policies are important...

I heard Converse posted a controversial ad and I wondered how bad it could be. Going in expecting something controversial I was still shocked by this…

Isn’t it interesting though that Mike Johnson shrugs all this off as just provocative things said just to create a “persona online” from one of his ACTUAL NOMINEES FOR CONGRESS, but Hasan Piker, who isn’t running for anything, supposedly represents the entire Democratic Party.

Quite incredible that the richest man on earth who has legitimately done all sorts of things from paying people to vote and purchasing media in order to twist it to his will is... claiming that Soros (who is not nearly as wealthy) has done the very things Musk absolutely does.

I bet the folks in swing states like Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, New York, and New Hampshire have a different opinion.

As always, this spotted dickwiggle and anyone else is entirely free to use any word he wants at any time for any purpose, and always has been. He's just not able to escape the consequences of using these words, which is, of course, what he really wants. Racists tend to want that, strangely.

A Scottish Tory peer has spoken out in defence of using the N-word. Nigel Biggar argued in a blogpost that it is 'stupidly unjust' for people to be punished for using the N-word if they did not mean it in a racist way. Read more: www.thenational.scot/news/2...

We cannot accept the reckless use of deadly force by federal agents as normal. There is a pattern of this administration misleading the public and withholding key facts after these killings.

I dunno man. If I were a law student of Prof. Wurman's at UMinn Law... I'd be asking for my money back. What happened wasn't "sue and settle." It was "sue an agency you control & have them provide you a massive economic win as a 'settlement.'" If I can figure that out, so can Wurman

It is undeniably funny that Chris Rufo - whose whole career is based on the idea that identity politics is so bad that its fine to ruin people's lives over it - is unhappy that Mamdani is not adequately appreciative of his identity

It's just remarkable that if you're white, male, and conservative you are allowed to call for political violence that would get anyone who doesn't tick all those boxes absolutely pilloried. The group with the fewest legitimate grievances in society provided the widest grace to rage. Wild.

I believe that Alex is the most prominent person alive to have called out Musk unflinchingly. We have a planet terrified by an overgrown 9chaner who throws Nazi signs to celebrate buying the presidency and uses his spoils to send 14 million to their death.
