ok stay with me on this one... sometimes you have writer's block because you're not in Text World. you have to read until you're back in Text World. if you don't read, you're writing in the real world. sentences won't feel right or they'll look goofy. not in Text World though

I don’t care where you started out on the political spectrum If your kid comes out as trans & you don’t become a rainbow-clad, parade-cheering ally & rock-solid supportive girl/boy/enby dad/mom? You were never a parent at all You were a doll collector furious they didn’t stay in their packaging.

All prisoners should have the right to vote while in prison

Taniel@taniel.bsky.social

Arguably the biggest democracy referendum next month: Virginia is one of only three states where the state constitution says people should lose their right to vote FOR THEIR ENTIRE LIFE if they are convicted of any felony. This measure would allow anyone to vote after prison.

My friends kids have got a lot of us with this format: Kid: "I have a great knock knock joke but you have to start it." Adult: "Alright, knock knock" Kid: "Who's there?" Adult, realising they've just been tricked into the wrong side of a knock knock joke: ...

diesel is closing in on a $6/gal national average as wholesale prices surge tonight 13c/gal with new attacks and threats. BUT the real story may be out West- California could blow past $8/gal, and some pumps aren't even built to display what could come next.

regarding UK. I'm not all thar far from the physical footprint of Hasbro, whose Wizards of the Coast's Magic the Gathering I used to play a lot and much more than I've ever played Warhammer, so I can fathom this being true, but still, wow.

I'm always dumbfounded when people are like "a trans player could take away a scholarship and an opportunity for a cis girl to go to college" because, basing educational opportunity on how good someone is at a game seems like the bigger problem to me.

(Covering my kids' eyes as we walk by a gay couple kissing) Fucking disgusting. You boys promise me you'll never be party to a consensual relationship.

Joe Buck never said this shit

Ken Jennings@kenjennings.bsky.social

This may be true of others but I actually got express permission from the trans community to keep NYT games and recipes. I also have a news subscription, which is arguably worse, so I had to specifically send in a written request. Took 30 days but I got approved.

not quoting the apparent post a little upthread from this, which horrifies.

Also just so it's in the thread, here are the policies wrt Beira's Place assessment process And yet Joanne admits she isn't the support worker, the information was shared to her somehow and she shared it on to Twitter Awful breach of ethics, yet completely unreported

Among the first US government cases of suffrage for non-human life. Delaware has been a preferred site of phylactery for these entities for some time. You could call them aliens voting if you prefer altho the history of the word "alien" in USA government is quite old, older than corporate personhood

Corporations, partnerships, trusts, limited liability companies, and other “artificial entities” have the right to vote in Delaware elections under some circumstances, a judge said in a novel ruling Tuesday.
