It's really important to pay attention to the fact that Lula beat the fascist candidate not by compromising and trying to meet fascist voters in the middle, but by sticking to his guns, promising prosecutions for election interference, and mobilising his own voters to turn out in greater numbers.

As we approach the midterms, remember that the Alt National Park Service is a merch sales operation claiming without evidence to be a group of federal employees, and is not a genuine source of news about elections of any kind. Please get your election info from a local, reputable source.

In 2003, Gary Busey was filming a Christian film about someone being reincarnated as a Pomeranian dog. Upon seeing the set for Heaven, he refused to do the scene because he'd had a near death experience and claimed Heaven didn't look like the set 1/2

2/2 a fellow actor playing an angel claimed that he'd also been to Heaven and called bullshit on Busey, leading to a fist fight that temporarily shut down production.

the intention behind art is supposed to make you feel SOMETHING and that SOMETHING is not always meant to be PLEASANT 🫵 we have a vast, endless, fluxing range of emotions. You are supoosed to use them ALL 🫵🫵🫵

What boring and weaselly people don’t want you to know about living in cities is that there’s a very small chance you’ll meet someone who wishes you harm because you’re not the right race/creed/whatever, but there’s a much greater chance you’re going to meet Hussein.

My stupid ass got three vaccines today and I am starting to feel it. Both arms. Tomorrow Me will be dying at work 🙃

I had a fun and successful Faire $$ despite getting rained out for two of the days I was there. I got this cat badge when I went to pick up my 2026 and I am in love.

underrated part of El-Sayed’s messaging strategy seems to be shaming journalists who ask dumb questions that play into right-wing frames. you can’t answer these in a way that satisfies them, but you can make it embarrassing enough that you impose a toll on asking.

I know this is a common belief, but it’s not true. If people went anti-vaxx/MAHA because they were excluded from the medical establishment, we would see sky-high rates among poor people, minorities and the uninsured. We don’t.

This isn't to say minority or crunchy hippie anti-vaxxers don't exist anymore, but there isn't a sprawling, well-funded media apparatus fueling their conspiratorial beliefs the way there is for MAHA.

COVID significantly shifted the dynamics of medical misinformation. Minorities and woo woo anti-vaxx types signed on to COVID shots while rank-and-file republicans explicitly rejected them. Both groups have now backfilled their beliefs about other vaccines and public health authorities.

This may have been true before COVID but since 2021, partisanship has become a better predictor of anti-vaxx beliefs than race. www.brookings.edu/articles/for...

It would be good to see your data on this; while the specific conspiracy theories behind vaccine skepticism are different in minority communities, there are definitely community -specific reasons to be skeptical of the medical establishment, that lead some people to be against vaccines

I love this thing so much

If you have a pet that sometimes snags your clothes, or if you're clumsy like me, I've found Dritz Snag Nab It to be very useful. It's a needle with rough grooves on the tail end. Push the needle through the cloth and it'll pull the snag to the fabric's underside, where it will be hidden.

I just scheduled my flu and updated covid shots for the end of the month. CVS now has the 2026-2027 versions of both. FYI Stay healthy! <3
