Forgot World Series was on. Turned it on. Brewers winning 2-0. Two outs in the 5th. Man on first. It's now 9-0 and still 2 outs in the 5th.

I don’t care any more about the brains of managers who choose to write their emails and do their 360s with LLMs, though I feel for their reports. But you would think we had learned to be careful with children’s brains after the recent reading catastrophe, and yet. So much money to be made.

Just a reminder that there is no good data to support these uses in K12, we are just testing it live all on kids who won’t ever be these ages again and can’t get them back if we fuck it up.

"AI can draft an essay for you, especially if you give it a high quality prompt." Really? This is what MIT thinks high schoolers should learn? MIT's "Day of AI" dayofai.org provides materials for K-12 teachers and claims to have reached over 5,000,000 students to date. 1/2

I actually don't like it when games get so one sided, especially games like this where I really want both teams to play well, and particularly want to home team to make their home fans proud and happy. I'm bummed out by this bad time inning. It is now 9-0, and still the 5th.

Gothamist has now picked up the story, noting activists put up flyers outside the home of killer cop Conrado Abreu-Gerez. They confirmed to Gothamist that they were arrested by NYPD’s warrant squad, which loves busting down doors in early morning raids to terrorize. gothamist.com/news/a-kille...

Two activists with New York Alliance Against Racist & Political Repression (@nyaarpr) were arrested at their homes in the early hours on Oct. 20. Activists were unclear of what happened. I did some digging, and this looks to be a case of NYPD abuse of authority and political intimidation. 🧵

Will anyone—anyone at all—ask Trump about the rape allegations published in an official report by the House Judiciary Democrats? Or will he continue to escape accountability for his violence?

A serial rapist was elected twice as President, a fact we don't reckon with nearly enough. Now one of two major political parties has been molded in his image, run for and by violent sexual abusers who hate women.

A man who meets the moment. You can always tell how much the Clemente award means to these guys by how they react to winning it, such as treating it as a Black Tie honor.

Me, weeping for all the struggling rich tech people, while looking at the seventeen emails I've received from the Anthropic Settlement administrator as I continue to try and get paid the few grand for the books the company stole the IP from.

My hot take: salaries and benefits for human employees is not government waste. Spending on contracts that outsource that labour to the private sector and private automation software is, though.

Guess I need another new email service. Recommendations welcome. Willing to pay, just don't want to pay massive shitheads.

I should disclose something. During a recent Lunch order the subagent hacked into the UN. I’m not sure why, or what it wants. It told me to post this and await further instructions.

Colin@colin-fraser.net

I had my AI agent create an app called “Lunch” to help me with decision fatigue and boost my productivity. It has a few pictures of things I might like to eat. Tapping one spawns a subagent to order that item on Uber Eats and 60-90 minutes later I’m eating. It’s 600 thousand lines of JavaScript.

Anthropic is trying to write its own federal AI regulation law. The major AI firms have all issued feeble proposals for how their AI will serve the public, in anticipation of their pending IPOs. It's all a reminder that we cannot, any under circumstances, let AI firms govern the future.
