I've been a runner my whole life, and a gym rat for a little over 10 years and agree with everything written here. I'm not trans, but that doesn't matter imo. Only thing I'd add is that consistency is your best friend. If that means working out for 10 minutes 5 days a week, that is completely fine

i wrote a little guide on physical fitness for trans people. i made it free because of how important this stuff is. if you like it, you can become a merritt+ member for only $5 a month, which is a huge help to me www.patreon.com/merrittk/pos...

And if you wanna run, CouchTo5k is popular and great. Running is obviously easy to learn, but it's also easy to injure yourself. So start slow! Here's an image I've sent to people that works great. It is organized by weeks, but you can totally take your time if you prefer. Just be consistent!

Last thing I'd say is that people often talk about not being "motivated" to work out, which is why I mention consistency. If you look at it as a fixture of your day like brushing your teeth, you're more likely to actually do it. Motivation be damned

For programs to start, I think the ones Merritt mentions are quite good. I started with one people hate nowadays, StrongLifts 5x5: stronglifts.com/stronglifts-... Full disclosure, I also don't love it now that I know more. But at least when I started, their free app was super useful

You should work out more than 10 mins / 5 days, but hey it's better than 0 minutes! Once you're consistent, creep it up a little bit and the benefits (especially mental) will follow

i've never actually seen where anyone says what they mean by "failing to secure the border" other than "there are too many brown people here".

One thing I *have* seen a study on is that people will behave more sexually and abusively to chatbots when the bots are presented as women. That seems bad! Not because the chatbots are actually humans, but because the *user* is, and that says something about them www.researchgate.net/publication/...

One of the weirdest part about Online is that every person (incl. myself) is reacting to other people's reactions about other people's reactions etc.. It becomes hard to authentically articulate yourself when the first news you hear is through a "take" which colors your experience

Doing research for the Five Nights At Freddy’s episode and I feel like the divide between being a millennial and being a zoomer is if you prefer PS1 demake aesthetics to pre rendered 3d art

Accidentally closed the app and lost a post I wanted to read, then frantically re-opened and scrolled to find it. I must've seen this smug ass face like 15 times in a row. Stop mocking me Powell!!!

I think we know what this means

Ordered a thing recently and they recommended I download some bullshit app to track it. But after all that, the app has less info than the regular link in the email.... dumb af

6. Now your MANAGER has to approve that second bug tracker before the commit will go through 7. The first bug tracker will automatically close, but your Jira ticket won't. Manually move it to review and then DM whichever your favorite QA person is so they can test it

b. To the main branch and once that's done cherry pick to the feature branch (you only need to add like 2 of the stupid commit message things this way but like why is it backwards???) 2. Never use more than one commit on a code review, always use --amend

3. Never merge code changes in, only rebase 4. You have to link to a Jira ticket AND the bug tracker software AND an automated Jenkins test AND NOW AN ADDITIONAL BUG TRACKER SOFTWARE 5. You need an approval on your code review, the Jenkins test, etc
